Laptops Laptop goes into standby on its own,when its on AC power??

Hi guys,

This is really weird,but my laptop goes into stanby on its own when not being operated for 2 mins or so........

This is highly annoying

my laptop is a acer travelmate 4000......

I checked the power options,

Acer e manager........

What do i do?

using windows right?

then go into control panel>power management

there you should see several profiles in a drop down menu, like laptop/portable; AC power; Battery etc.

set that menu on laptop/portable, and under that you will see options for switching the monitor off, suspend, hibernate etc.

so set the profile as "laptop/portable" and make the changes in the lower menu as per your wishes and click on apply.

that should do it.

whenever i open power options,it says a more powerful acer e manager will be opened.
I changed everything in emanager 's new profile to never........

lets see how it goes now

i just closed the lid and put an external monitor,no problem till now

All you have to do is, go in your power plan (By right clicking your battery icon and clicking on power options).

Then on the left hand side click on 'Change the way Computer Sleeps' then in that under 'Plugged' and for 'Put computer to sleep after' select 'Do nothing'

That's all!
