Laptops Laptop help for daily use/movies.

Hey,

A very good friend is looking to buy a laptop, budget is 60k-ish. The usage is mostly going to be daily office work with email/excel/word and I'd guess a decent bit of movie watching. I'm looking for a suggestion for something that has very good A.S.S considering he is the kinda guy who prefers calling people to come fix his computers. Looking for something that would do fine with even HD movies and a bit of light gaming(nfs, etc) for 2-3 years. Preferably a 15" or 17".

Also would buy this from Thailand be any use? Are prices there better than here? (his parents traveling there soon)

I wouldn't suggest buying a laptop from Thailand at all, I bought a compaq laptop from Bangkok recently only to find the audio/mic ports non-functional. Also, the thai script on the keyboard is very annoying sometimes.

You DO want good A.S.S., then Thailand is out. Pick up a Studio 17 config. Thats within your 60k budget for a good config. Croma had some on display if you want to go look

In 60k you can go for Dell or HP models
