Laptop - chain, lock, etc for safety while travel and stay...???

Dear friends

I am travelling to USA next week and have purchased a laptop for the same of around 55K.

My main purpose of laptop purchase among other things is the ability to check emails and have access to online google search through the free wireless internet access provided in the hotel where i am scheduled to stay.

My concern is that how do i ensure ths safety of my laptop but while travelling in plane (almost 24 hours) and therefafter in hotel where i will be staying for 5 weeks as i will not be carrying the laptop to the office there in USA.
Is there any chain, lock, etc or any other similar item is available which is worth purchasing for safety of my laptop both during travel and stay there in USA.

I am partcularly concerned as this is the first time i will be using and carrying a laptop in my life.

Plz members and senior gurus who have travelled to usa or outside india before to provide some input or what precautions they take to ensure safety.

thanks a lot for ur valuable input and help.

regards

Well, make sure you have a US compatible charger ( i.e. 110v...) Also, their plugs are different.
Your laptop probably comes with these things, but just check before going.

The rooms normally have electronic safes :D.

Lol.

Anyways, just carry it in a bag, nothing will happen to in on a Plane.

Planes are too bumpy even while taking off :bleh:
