Hi There,

My Girlfriend wants to buy a laptop, this being her 1st laptop wanted to make sure it is the best.

She needed a 15 incher since then her brother too could occasionaly use the it. Usage will be watching movies, listening to music, playing occasional games (not really graphic intensive) and yeah surfing the web.

I'd really like to know your opinions on this config and also suggestions on any alternatives.

It's quite good config you have selected according to your requirement.

BTW. Check out this Vaio notebook specs.

VPCCW1BGN : VAIO CW Series : VAIO Laptop & Computer : Sony India

It's build quality is superior then Studio 15. Price on website as you can see is 52K, so you would get the same below 50K on street easily.

And GPU here (i.e Nvidia G210 M)is little bit lower then the one in studio 15 (HD4570). But That will (more then) easily fulfill your casual gaming requirement.

Just one drawback is there. only 2 GB ram is there in this vaio notebook. But anyways letter on you can add more 1 or 2 GB ram. BTW here it's DDR3 ram.

Thanks KJD but I'd stay away from Sony.

Also people one thing I am worried about is that Dell is providing a 64bit Win7 OS (infact that is why I chose 4gb of RAM), will that be a problem as in I know all the major software vendors support 64bit but are there any shortcomings for people who have already used a windows 64bit OS.

AFAIK, a 64-bit OS should be able to run all 32-bit applications also. So, there is no disadvantage of using a 64-bit OS. In fact, many people using 64-bit Vista found it very stable.
