I had purchased a Lenovo U310 about 3 years back. That came with normal HDD and a small (24GB) mSata SSD for cache. As soon as the warranty expired I opened up the laptop and put in a 128GB SSD drive.

I need to replace this laptop now. So I need a similar laptop with a mSata / M.2 slot. Primary consideration is weight and portability, not performance.

Budget: <50k
Primary Usage: Net surfing, very casual gaming
Size: 10 - 11 inch
Weight: < 2 kg
Any other considerations? mSata / M2 slot so that I can add an SSD later.

whats the advantage of m2 port for ssd than using normal ports of laptops. im also planning for a 14-15inch one whose HDD i will replace to a big ssd. Im guessing speed but just how muhc ? i think ssds offer like 500mbps write/read speed right ?

SSD is expensive :) I plan to put in a small SSD (128 - 256 gb) for programs, and keep the normal laptop hdd for data etc.

In terms of speed, its more about random read time than speed. My current laptop wakes up from sleep in < 5 sec. Boot to desktop in about 20 sec. Excel opens almost instantly. Etc, etc :)

I also have a Lenovo with Msata port. Ssd in Msata & 1TB in HDD replaced, very convenient. OS in ssd & data in 1TB.
