21-30k Laptops now have a option for BIOS+MBR ?

Laptops being sold with DOS need Windows to be installed.

If a user prefers the older BIOS + MBR scheme (rather than UEFI + GPT), can he do that with the recent laptops?

I don't use laptops but someone I know is buying one.

I prefer to use grub4dos to boot, it needs the older scheme.

what are you using grub4dos to load? i think most laptops now would have some setting for legacy bios in options. if you select that, then you can install old operating systems.

I multiboot, so I need something like grub4dos.
Also I boot to PE ISOs .
Most of the time I boot WIn7 from memory. Couldn't do without grub4dos

Yes, they usually allow legacy ROMs.

Note in the UEFI/BIOS setup it may be called as "CSM" instead of just "legacy BIOS mode". CSM is short for compatibility support module or something like that.

Yes, If your PC uses BIOS, it will display Legacy. If it is using UEFI, it will display UEFI! If your PC supports UEFI, then if you go through your BIOS settings, you will see the Secure Boot option.
In general, UEFI-enabled machines have faster startup and shutdown times as compared to BIOS-based machines.
