Hello,

I want to sell my late 2008 13.3" Aluminum Macbook which is now re-branded by Apple as Macbook Pro.

Pricing details in the image below. (if you cannot see the image, your firewall is probably the culprit):

If it isn't obvious - column 2 details what I am selling. I am offering two pricing options. Column 1 and 3 are what you buy from Apple India without any kind of student discount. Green cells denote perceived advantages.

Cosmetically, the macbook is 9.5/10. Two minor, almost invisible scratches in the outer body. Of course, if you look from weird angles the screen guard will look bad - but the actual macbook screen and viewing quality from proper angles is excellent. And the screen guard definitely helps in cutting down glare. That is why I purchased it in the first place. The keyboard skin also looks used, but I have no control over that. These things are made to protect and they take a beating in return.

I am providing all the original accessories that came with the box. Original packing also available. The Magsafe power adapter cosmetically shows usage because it is generally lying on the floor.

Both the upgraded RAM and hard disk have been in use for almost 6 months now and have shown no problems. They have respective warranties but applicable only in the US. If you are opting to buy with stock RAM and hdd, I would require some time to re-fit them. Also, the copy of Snow Leopard that I will be providing is original.

All prices exclusive of shipping. My preference of buyer in order of priority will be:

  • Local buyer
  • Buyer from a nearby city/town (Like Chennai, Hyd, Mysore, Mangalore etc..)
  • Buyer who is ready to co-operate with me for shipping logistics (suggests a reliable courier, agrees on shipping charges at actuals or arranges for a pick-up)

Some people have already PMed me about this sale. I will direct them here. Also, I am not desperate to sell this. So don't expect massive price drops and post bumps. If it goes, I can upgrade, else I am more than happy to be using this till whenever.

astrono_me, Just a suggestion..I am not saying that you have overpriced your product but i'm wodering that if you had paid 148$ extra for the ram and hdd upgrade, why is there a difference of 10k between the options...in fact, u should depriciate the upgraded value and hike the price by just 5k, this will encourage sale of higher specks...just my 2 cents
Also, i just bought a laptop but yours was a excellent offer...if you find a buyer who wants to buy ur lappy with 160 gb hdd...pls pm me with an offer for your 500gb hard disk.

I see your point. But for now it stays this way :)

Surely will let you know about the 500GB Hdd if it is available on sale.
 
Are you willing to exchange this with a Sony Vaio FW series laptop with 2.0 GHz 1066 MHz FSB Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, ATI RAdeon 4650 with 1 GB DDR memory, Blu Ray reader DVD/CD writer, 16.1 inch 1600X 900 resolution screen, HDMI out - 2 months old and looks brand new without even a single scratch.

err, don't the new 13.3 MBPs have a IPS panel (vs the TN like on mine - late 2008) now like their big pro 15.4 Pros of yore?
might not mean much for many, but it's a significant differerence still!

Not sure about the panel, but the newer 13mbps have 60% more colour gamut than the Unibody MBs, that much is known.

Replied to your PM along with bank details. From my end I will get back to you about when my friend is leaving for Delhi on the 30th, and from your end ensure that the money is in my account by Tue if it is possible for you to meet my friend in Delhi on Wednesday and collect the macbook. :)

Also pls PM me which config you want to buy, at the earliest. Like I said, I need some time changing the hdd and RAM if you are going for the lower config.
