If buying used or refurbished laptop

Which one to go for

Dell Latitude or HP pro book or elite book or ThinkPad

I have searched lot of shop online and offline..

But ThinkPad in original condition with all original parts very very hard to find.. they remove original screen and keyboard and swap cheap parts

Butostly I have seen lots of Dell latitude in good used condition

I have not used these laptop.. but many of our forum membermust have

Please share your ideas which is to buy from refurbished or used market..

I prefer to buy used stuff from trusted markets and people and can vouch for both HP pro book and elite book as using one.
Dell has degraded in term of quality so I prefer to stay away.
Thinkpad is everyones dream but getting one in a great condition itself is a bit of challenge.
There are online sites for refurbished laptops which even offer warranties, you can check those.

I have an elitebook g1 bought in 2017 refurbished from Nehru place. Best money spent. It's battery health is still above 90%.
Only gripe is some of keys don't work now(working till last year). Some sort of keyboard connector fault.

Recently got a thinkpad t480. Now some keys of its keyboard are not working. Also external battery stopped working with laptop.laptop used to last 6 hours with external battery. Internal battery only lasts one hour max. At the time of purchase both battery were showing good health.

Build quality of elitebook is top notch. thinkpad feels cheap.

Based on my experience i will say probook and elitebook.

Also like to add that look for vendors who can provide 6 months warranty.

I find elitebooks best. ProBooks aren't as well built. ThinkPad T series also have good build but look fugly and i hate the fn key in the bottom right (yes i know I can change it in bios)
Dell latitude 8xxx and maybe 7xxx are supposed to be good, but their looks are too plain.
Laptop models Used
Elitebooks - 840 g1 and g2
ProBooks 445 and 440
ThinkPad T480
Latitude 3410 and 7280

If your budget is 15k, you are not going to get an elitebook class machine. Those go for 22 -28k. Then the 640 is as good as any. Check the screen spec. Like you said lots of parts swapping going on. You don't want to get stuck with a 720p TN screen
