My sister's phone(a samsung E1410) croaked just out of warranty, and my nokia 1203 has been sent to replace it.

along with it, I've been given a work phone which is another bulky nokia POS.

I can't carry *THREE* phones, so I've decided to go the dual sim route ( which I initially resisted with the original two phones :P)

First i was thinking about the samsung C3222, but I really dont need all that - I have a spica which more than takes care of all the 'feature' phone needs. What I needed is a phone to

1. make a lot of voice calls

2. have loads of battery life

3. text a lot

4. NOT lag ( am kinda pissed off with the spica's lag when it comes to messaging and calling

So I've narrowed it down to the Lava B2 since it claims to have a 1800 mah battery. am planning to move my regular sim and official sim to this phone, and my kerala sim to the spica and use airtel on that ( gprs costs the same even when roaming)

But I'm really not sure how the lava B2 is. at 2.5k on flipkart, its cheap enough, but

1. is the battery life as good as it claims to be ?

2. is its UI reasonably fast ?

3. Build quality

4. what charger does it use :-/

Thanks :)

well, if any big manufacturer offered anything with two sims and a big ass battery and a qwerty pad, I'd take it.

but they dont. and 2.5k is seriously cheap :)

how's the zen M25? I'm willing to take a risk here. the big screen is nice. wonder what the sound quality is like

lava / micromax are made in the same factory infact even zen :) . i happen to know one of the owners of the 3 brands mentioned :P . infact many branded phones are also made in there. its not just always crap - its something like you go to them and have a budget and quality targets set. just because they are not big brands in the sense like nokia and samsung one should not out rightly reject those. at the end of the days its ones own call :)

You said it all yourself, their(1) quality is set on their personal input only driven my market competitiveness.

Its a big plus that Big brands' quality is not only set by competitiveness in the market.

So OP dont go for micromax/lava/zen etc, maybe go for entry level models in the branded league, but dont buy much radiations for some discount.

bought a zen M25 after not being able to find a qwerty B2 ( all they had were alphas :S)

Very solid build, big battery, and a big phone with a nice screen. will update about the battery life soon

for something advertized as a full video phone, I couldnt get it to play any videos :S
