Lava Lamps..... anyone??

I had gone through KMD's thread in the past. It is around 2 yrs old. The MK guy quoted me 350 for the largest plasma during the first interaction itself. A Rs 50 hike in the last two years. I chose not to argue.

I asked him a quote on the lava lamps. He said, "same as the plasma balls. Depends on size". Im not sure on the range. But since KMD was selling these for 450 a piece, you take that as a basis. If your buying more than 10, let him know that. Do not buy immediately. Ask his cell phone number and tell him that you'll let him know soon.
 
Purchased 2 Lava Lamps. 1 for 325/- & another for 650/- Considerable difference in price as well as quality...... :P

The 325/- one doesn't work...... The lava goes up & then never comes down..... Tried 3 different bulbs...... still same.... :(

The seller quoted 300/- if we buy 6 or more.... but what's the use if it doesn't work..... :(

The 650/- one works great...... Seller quoted 600/- if we buy 6 or more..... But at that price, I doubt anyone would be willing to buy it...... :P

Still hunting for more sellers.... let's see how things work out.

I am from Mumbai.....!!!

But I can arrange Pune...... My sister is doing her PG from PUMBA.....

U'll have to collect it from her if u want it really badly...... :P

When I come to Pune, then either my dad would come from Mumbai to visit me or I would go to Mumbai to visit him, either way I would be able to collect it from you.
 
Musafirkhana is abt 25 mins frm my place....leme know f any one wants to check price at some particular shop.
when opned the thread...wasnt interested....but by the time I m writing this ..I guess Im following the HERD :p.. .and dont mind that. as I wanna get one too. Price is nt an issue as long a the quality is good.

Any method to ensure quality at the source?

Quality is the issue mate.....

U cannot fully test the lamp unless it is plugged in for atleast 1-2 hours...... No shop will allow u to do that.....

Again, Once the lamp starts functioning perfectly & u want to buy it, u have to cool it down before u pack & move it...... that takes another 1-2 hours..... :(

I bought 2 lamps...... without testing obviously..... the lower priced one didn't work...... and had no exchange policy...... :(

The higher priced one had a 1 day testing warranty....... it worked..... :)
 
I want a Lava or Plasma Lamp. I live in Delhi. I once say the Lamp in sadar Bazzar but was doubtfull so dropped the idea :(
 
Here are the pics of my Rs.650/- lava lamp.













The Liquid is Clear with Fluorescent Green Lava.

Height of Lamp is ~ 16 inches. Base & Crown are made of Aluminium & have a brushed aluminium finish.

The other Rs.325/- Lava Lamp is currently with my friend who is experimenting with it...... trying to make it work..... :P

Will post pics of that one as well once he gets tired of trying & returns the lamp to me......!!! :P

Well, colours are available...... but u have guess what the colours are as the lava practically loses it colour when solid.....

I saw Red & This green one..... Red looked dull..... If we order 6 or more from him, he'll arrange for more colour choices......

But again, shipping is very very very risky...... :(
 
^^ Actually, even I can ship it but the question is whether the buyer is wiling to bear the shipping cost + risk of breakage in transit......

I don't want a 'Market Feedback Thread' opened in my name..... Lolzzz.......!!! :P
