LCD vs LED

What would make sense, expensive LED or LCD TVs that are cheaper?

Differences among LED & LCD that I am aware of are

• Lower power consumption in LED
  
• LEDs are thinner
  
• Blacks seems good in LEDs

Yes, these are the real differences that matter.

Other than that, the display technology is essentially the same unless you consider the highest end LED's with Local dimming.

But, for normal home use, an LCD will be as good as an LED.

If you are tight on budget, going for a higher series LCD makes more sense than a lower end LED.

Else, you can go for a decent LED - the thin panel definitely adds class to your room!
