Hey Fellas,

Need to buy a screen for gaming purpose. Currently using a 32 Sony which i find inadequate. It becomes very difficult in case of FPS games.

Purpose - X-Box + HD movies.

Budget - 35k

Distance - 10 - 12 ft

Brand - Any

Type - LCD/LED/Plasma

Resolution - Full HD.

Location- Gurgaon

I checked Samsung E5000 which is appx 35k on ebay (dealer's warranty), when i went to showroom to check the same, i found it very pathetic in terms of PQ. No where close to any LED !!

Thanks again guys ![DOUBLEPOST=1367134929][/DOUBLEPOST]Guys - Check this -

This Series 6 model is a far better option. Sammy 6 Series is as good as the Sony EX650. Surprisingly, the Series 5 model that you linked is slightly more expensive than the Series 6 model! But remember that these are with dealer warranty - like grey market stuff.

Hi @Jambumali - Thanks for the input, though i have few queries.

1. Is it the "smart TV function which makes Series 6 better than series 5, or we have significant improvement on PQ etc ?
2. In any case of samsung we have 1 year warranty only. I amok with Dealer's warranty. (as it saves 10-15k)
3. Can i apply any ebay coupons ?
4.I am Ok wih a "LCD", but i need bigger screen size.
5. Any other deal link can you share ?

Thanks

1. There is significant improvement in PQ - Series 6 against Series 5. Don't look for "smart" options - PQ should be the main criterion. You can always hook up a laptop/stick to the TV & make it "smarter" than any other "smart" tv.
3. Coupons can be applied - but some banks like HDFC cap the max amount to say Rs. 750 - it is still better than nothing :)
4. LED is also a LCD TV with LED backlight. The entire "LED TV" concept was very very successfully sold to customers (all over) by Samsung; other brands followed suit. Pure LCDs are no longer available - it is cheaper to make (& sell) the LCD-LED TVs. Try LG, if I remember they still offer the CS series, but then you would need to buy it in a showroom - will turn out more expensive.
5. Just go to the deals section in eBay - to get more options. But 46" TV at 35k - seriously doubt if you can get that. There is no point in buying lower sets like Sony CX etc, at the large screen size, pixellation would be a real killjoy.

As mentioned earlier Series 6 (40EH6000) is the best option among the 3.

Ok, Thanks @Jambumali for the information. I went to Reliance Digital today, saw Samsung EH5000, it sure does have blur problem. I was easily able to make out the difference in Sony's & EH5000 PQ. However, the Samsung EH6000 was not available & only the latest F6200 & 6300 were on display. They sure has great PQ.

I guess i should go ahead & buy EH6000 ( i hope that the best in that range ). From where can i find coupons ?

Suggest that you take a few rips/discs an try to have a dekko of the Series 6 too, at a Sammy shop. You will the feel of the performance. Seeing is believing!

Coupons: try your credit card ones like HDFC, ICICI etc. Else try desidime etc. Just google!

i went to store to check EH6000, they all have F6000 series, which is the latest one. I guess i would need to check its reviews online only.

Sometimes reviews may not match our perception.

Gentle reminder: Whenever you compare keep the budget in mind. Compare similarly priced TVs only!

hey, i was reading reviews online on Samsyng EH5000 versus EH6000 and many say that EH5000 is a better option than EH6000 !

That's a good rate. If possible get the EX650. EX Series are the 2012 models, the newer W-series has started trickling in. Look for the EX650, it was Sony's top 2D only 2012 model. The EX430 is a step lower, a good one nonetheless.

Thanks @Jambumali. Currently i have 3 options -

1. 42EH5000
2. 40EH6000
3.Sony 40EX430

All are almost for same price. Confused which one to buy.
