Laptops Lenovo 3000 N100 problem

hi
my friend owns a lenovo 3000 N100, facing some problem s with his laptop.

As soon as he switches on the laptop, it gets frozen at the lenovo frontpage screeen and it is not able to load further ...

guys suggest me what could be the problem ??
has the HDD crashed ??
or some BIOS issues ??
or some other h/w related issues ??

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you not to open it. But check out the RAM slot Cover, if no sticker is pasted then, reinstall them and see. If it does not help, you can try removing the battery and power supply from the lapy and leave it for 10minutes or so and then try again. Try to enter BIOS by pressing either F1, F2 or F10 which ever is applicable. Update if any progress.

but as soon as the main screen comes, it goes dead ...
i cant even enter the BIOS....
its stuck in the main screen....

I think the BIOS hanged. If you could take out the CMOS battery inside it might work. But I'm afraid you will void the warranty:huh:

the warranty is already over .. it is a 3 year old laptop ....
il try removing the battery ...
ur right ....
maybe it looks like a BIOS issue .....
