Being X710 based (And not 82599ES-based like X540 cards are) means very lower power consumption and heat generation.
Official specs say TDP of 7W. Bought from Ebay US.@napstersquest , where did you get the Intel X710 card?
What kind of power consumption are you looking at?
Can you elaborate on your setup a bit?, would like to know more about it.
