Review Letsbuy and Flipkart service?

I have joined Techenclave recently and this is my first post. I have some queries regarding online purchase of mobiles

Weather getting mobiles thro' Courier is safe or is there any chances of damage in transit?

There are some concerns with credit card payment in Letsbuy and it is suggested to go for COD. Is it safe to pay using credit card as they don't have COD option for my place?

How is Filpkart service w.r.t. Mobiles? Is it safe to buy mobiles from them as they are mainly known for selling books?

I've used both sites and can't really complain. You should check the letsbuy.com feedback thread for more info though.

Courier should be safe since most of these sites pack them pretty well and insure them.
 
Since this if your first purchase,I would say buy it from Flipkart & make payment using COD. only when you get the product in your hands. If something goes wrong, you can just refuse to accept the package:P

PS: Its not that Credit Card online is unsafe but for first time,I think you will feel more comfortable by paying in cash;)
 
I have bought item from both the site, both are good. LSB offer coupons so its one step ahead of flipkart. Still i feel flipkart is more reliable
 
Flipkart is slightly superior to Letsbuy in every aspect. But with LetsBuy's coupons it's currently the best online retails website :D .

LetsBuy is sometimes late with their shipping.
 
I may be buying a mobile from flipkart (mostly using COD) but need to know if they package it properly and also if the bill and everything is available inside proper ?

Also any way to get any sort of discounts from flipkart ?
 
^ yes buddy, they will pack it well and you will get your bill and everything. Even you can call them and ask them to ship via your favorite courier (provided they have tie-up with them)
 
Ok I really don't want to hijack this thread, but I have a relavent query. I plan to order a phone from lsb with cod option. Am I supposed to pay by hard cash? Or are cheque/dd accepted? Also, should I make it a point to make the delivery guy open the package or should I do the honors in front of him?

If COD than need to pay CASH ONLY.

NO, delivery guy won't let you open at your place (without paying first) but may be at their Office if you personally go there & collect. BlueDart guy at my place ask me to pay him first & letter if I found any problem with courier he is ready to help me (don't know in what way - but I didn't found any problem with package so far with any courier)

I recently purchased a laptop from flipkart , the laptop description on their site wasn't accurate because of which i bought a laptop which i would have never considered for purchase , i posted about the issue here http://www.techenclave.com/topic/511294-asus-x54h-sx136d-only-one-ram-slot , for the last month the laptop had incorrect description & one hour after my post they corrected the description, which means that they read my thread, I had already taken a screenshot of the description before making that thread & have now contacted them , let see what they do now.

How is it possible that they get to know of the thread so fast ? .

Through TE or some software they use ? .
 
I dont know how they found out but i am sure it was changed after reading my thread, today morning i took this screenshot -

^ you can see the date & time , about an hour after i made that thread i decided to email flipkart about the issue & went to the product page again & saw that they had changed it to one slot

I purchased couple of things from LETSBUY and their service is good but they take 5-6 days to shipped the product.
 
I purchased my Motorola Defy+ from LSB. It was packed perfectly & shipped through Aramex.

Paying through Credit Card is perfectly safe. If you face any issues you can file for a chargeback with your bank. Don't know about the hassle in it. COD is good, but most sites don't accept coupons for COD orders.
 
flipkart music download sucks. i bought an album and the buggers have restricted direct download speeds to 30KBps. and worst of all, the download keeps stopping in middle and shows 0.0 Kbps for upto more than minute, resumes to 15Kbs then dies again. And the max amount you can download is just 4 tries. All this on a 3Mbps connection. Thought it might be my internet connections fault but it downloaded a 4 minute youtube video easily in 5 mins.

I sent them a mail and all they replied was they were sorry for inconvenience and to use their downloading software.

if all the number of downloads gets used up just trying to download then i'll will never buy music from here again. waste of money.
 
Flipkart FTW !! Received Battlefield 3 just 1 day after it was released. Many products I have received within 48 hours. Purchased products worth 30k frm Flipkart !!
 
Letsbuy made me a fool on april 1st.Requested for MGS4 on 1st april till now they are showing request in process.Kindly lets not buy from there anymore.
