Just went to look this up at chroma.

Its this one:

LG GSA-E60N - LG Global Site

The bad:

1. It requires separate AC power.

The good:

1. Lightscribe support :) .

2. The whole setup INCLUDING the casing is LG. So expect decent quality + warranty.

3. Chroma price is 1.9k. So outside pricing WILL be even lower.

A separate ightscribe supporting drive + separate chinese casingwill prob have a similar cost. So this seems good. Friend might pick one up. Will update if so.

As per LG global site they have a slimline USB powered model as well. Its actually used by ultraportable notebooks cos some of the high end ones also dont come with the drives to keep the lappy light n slim ;)

Only problem: I doubt its available here. Check newegg? ;)

Sorry for bumping this thread but techie did u find out the price of the lg external writer, is it cheaper than the croma pricing ?

1. Afraid its not avl in the market anymore with other dealers :( So no option other than croma.

2. Picked up from croma for 2k. Will post a preview soon with exact detail/model..
