Hey guys, I am really confused between Optimus One and Dell xcd35 as I am getting the xcd35 at about the same price as Optimus one through one of my friends.

I know that xcd35 has a really great screen, and else all specs is nearly same as Optimus one. Xcd35 has a smaller battery and has 256mb ram(can be unlocked to 512mb). I also need to know if xcd35 has the Adreno200 gpu that is present in the Optimus one.

Please suggest which of these two is a better phone, if available at the same price.

Thanks.

Well being a LG Optimus One user I can vouch for it's performance totally but since I have not used the Dell XCD35, it would be unfair to say it's worse than O1.

Pros of XCD35:

1) Bigger Screen,

2) Better Resolution,

3) Updated to Android 2.2 Froyo

Cons of XCD35:

1) Lower Capacity Battery (1250mAh vs O1's 1500mAh)

2) 256mb Stock Ram & obviously the system is optimized for that, RAM over-clocking may make it unstable; If you talk about Mods then O1 has more & better Mods.

3) SDCard upgradeable upto 16GB. The better screen calls for lots of high resolution videos so 16GB is decent but you never know when you need more than that.

4) It has just been updated to Android 2.2 Froyo, so update to 2.3 Gingerbread is not on the cards any soon whereas LG has officially announced that Optimus One family will be updated to 2.3.

Finally I would say that Dell XCD35 may look & feel better than LG Optimus One but I was moved by the market response of O1. I won't suggest you any phone as the suggestion would be biased as my Optimus One is giving such wonderful performance, I do not repent that I chose O1 over Samsung Galaxy Ace & Motorola Defy.

Ultimately, the OP has to handle both and decide. I checked both the blade as well as the O1 and purchased the O1 because I felt it had a better build quality (again, that is subjective) and had a slightly longer battery life.

The screen is better on the Blade, definitely (sharper by far).

My vote goes to the O1 though, been using it day after day without any problems.

Me also wanted to buy an android in sub 10k range..........i know everybody will suggest Optimus one........but was just wondering Optimus one is here for while now and is the only budget android from LG.......arent they planning to release any new handset like Optimus two(cant think of ne other name :P ) or something........i cud wait a lil more if sumthing new gonna cum......

Restarting the thread as I have the very same question.

The phone is for my wife. We are tempted towards xcd35 mainly due to the screen resolution. Her main requirements are browsing, gmail sync, ebook/pdf reading, decent music quality and some casual gaming (angry birds without stuttering). For that isn't the dell a better option than LG O1? The main reason for worry is the ZTE (Chinese phone) in Dell's shell and hence unsure reliability and service. Also is the SAR level on the higher side for this phone?

Appreciate any help that I can get. Planning to get the phone tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

lol u think chinese means bad? remember, chinese companies make both the best and worst of products. zte happens to be the good one, they are worldwide no.5 in handset production volume, speaks cartloads about their popularity and sales.

and the modding scene of this phone is kkrrrazzy totally. Yeah, the price is Rs. 10,599 and you should go for it.

Thanks for the reply c@d

My concern is that the first time that I've heard about ZTE is through this forum :) my ignorance, but was apprehensive because of that..

As for modding or custom ROMs not sure I'd be doing it as this phone would be with my wife and she wouldn't bother with it.. I might give it a try later on though :)

Your not going be modding? Hmm, then just the screen will make the difference for you. Get the blade, it'll totally fulfill those needs, even with a stock rom.

As for hearing about the ZTE blade here, I suggest you google it and check the reviews out. Trust me, you'll be swayed.
