Looking for a cheaper LGA 775 socket processor. Preferably looking for Pentium D series as it is cheaper. If there is any offer, please PM me.

Have a 45nm Celeron 430 1.8Ghz with OEM cooler 4-5 months old. Almost as good as Pentium D 2.8 Ghz. Can be easily OCed to 2.4 Ghz(1066 fsb) & better than Pentium Ds at that speed. Can sell for 1.5k+shipping.

Celeron 430 is better than pentium Ds, almost same performance @ considerable less power draw. Please refer the review link for benchmarks. Even I was using it in my download rig + its a 45nm version so runs cool too. Definitely cheaper than Pentium D.

Penitum Ds were the most hot running & power consuming processors ever made. Not suitable for 24x7 ops.
