Any chipset, any brand, any model?

I've seen a few AMD mobos in both 7050 and 690G with an onboard TV-out, but none for Intel, not even the ones running the 7050/7100 chipset.

Any ideas if such a beast exists? Need one to run my listening rig at home.

I only need 2D display on a TV, no fancy video support. At least one PCI slot. And a place to plug in a keyboard and mouse, and a pendrive. Two SATA ports + 1 IDE is good enough for me. ATX or Micro-ATX are fine.

Currently running a S754 rig as in sig. Everything is dandy, but the vid card puts out a boatload of heat. Not good for my high-end cards. I'm looking at keeping power and heat (and therefore fans/noise) to the minimum, so would like to avoid a video card totally.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Dunno prices, but we know Asus products r always overpriced.

thanks, but my mistake - should've been specific. TV-out, not HDMI out, so either S-video like the TA690G, or component output like the M2AVM-HDMI.

searched High and low on google . there isn't one , yet...

the 7050 series does have the capacity, but seems no one's gotten around to implementing it yet..

Thanks Greenie. I actually went to each manufacturer's site to hunt, plus Newegg. Seems no one is bothered about putting a TV-out on an Intel mobo, even though the same chipset (7050) on the AMD platform has a TV-out. Weird.

Looks like an AMD is on the cards again for this rig, maybe one of the Energy-efficient versions or even a Sempron, which wil be enough for the kind of work I need to do. The problem is the 690g chipset ain't spotty clean on the PCI bus, which is what I really need. also the cheaper AMD mobos don't supply very clean +12 and -12V rails, unlike the Intel boards. I need squeaky clean rails for my 1212m.

Oh well!

Thanks for the suggestions, both.

Greenie: I would've picked up the Mini board, but am not so sure a) of the Sis chipset's latency performance and b) if the TV-out models are available at all.

lomac: Maybe the TV converter would work, but those things get a little pricey around these parts. And the one you linked to definitely does not work in all cases, it needs a video card that actually uses the VGA port for a TV-out signal. Most don't. There are active converters, but they cost as much as a video card.

But thanks for trying, really! :)

Apparently only Prolink makes those ADD2 cards anymore. I was trying desperately to get one when I had my 965WH, but was totally unsuccessful, so I deployed an AMD setup instead.

Looks like it's gonna get my vote again this time, but I'll wait for the 8200 series. I'm marginally more comfortable with nVidia chipsets...
