News Lies, Bribery, and Manipulation: Nvidia doesn't give a ****

Yeah don’t think it was. The TI card’s 8 GB version was shit, and they tried to bury it at that time. Only gave the 16 GB model as review samples.

Now with the base 5060 they’re acting like even bigger cunts.

Oh this goes deeper than just the 5060 thing - just watched the GN one. It's a pity that this is the situation.
The GN one is the way to go!

I don't think I've ever heard Steve drop so many F-bombs in one video :wideyed:

I really respect Stephen Burke dont take any sh!t from nobody. Nvidia become a very arrogant company who seem to think they can push anybody around and get them to sing to their tune. Glad Steve has told everyone what their trying to do with the media.

Also, the way he exposed shoddy ASUS support was truly amazing.

Huh.. looks like Nvidia now fearing that all the "correct and appropriate" press will "negatively" hit their bottomline so out come the swords. It was a matter of time.

90% market share + focus on AI which is maybe 10x gaming market in size and with better margins i think.
They don't care and in the end people buy Nvidia anyway - look at the people wanting 5090/5080 in spite of substandard hardware and software and crazy price + Indian warranty denials for burned gpus.

Look at the end of the video, he said it few years back i think. People in the end, buy Nvdia after crying and whining. Those who don't know or cant wait for new shiny stuff will buy 8gb/12gb crap ( or 16gb 5080 at 1L+). Others will complain but then buy Nvidia when they upgrade from 12/16 to 18/24. If Amd drops prices, nvidia follows and people buy Nvidia. So amd doesn't drop that much in markets Nvidia cares for.
So we got the fake 9070xt prices, although at 70k it isnt too bad vs Nvidia these days.

5 years or so since 3080 at 700$ and 9070xt is barely 40% faster and slightly more expensive.

They don't care
If that was the case, they wouldn't be setting up misleading previews with well-known media houses such as Digital Foundry (for the RTX3080), GamesRadar and PC Gamer (for the RTX5070), and Tom's Guide (for the RTX5060 8GB); or blocking driver access for independent reviewers to not be able to publish reviews on-time (because of Computex). This clearly shows that Nvidia do actually care about the media narrative surrounding their consumer line of products.

A few decades back (circa 2009), I remember Intel doing the same, bribing media houses and OEM partners against AMD. This was during Intel's peak dominance in the CPU market share. And look what they are now.

Somewhere at the back of Jensen's mind, he clearly knows that this AI boom cannot be trusted long-term (similar to crypto-boom), and he needs an alternative to fall back when the AI market dries up or becomes saturated. That's why you are seeing such mental gymnastics from Nvidia, because again, they care.

DF did misleading reviews? this is the first I heard of it, care to link some source or the video in question?
