Lightheadedness, Nausea while playing a game?

finally, thought it was only me having a problem with UE3 games. Bioshock did the same thing to me, so did Bulletstorm. I gave up a long time ago.

Someone used to feel like this when he switched from CRT to LCD, especially on FPS. (Well- i think he only had FPS games but that point stands).

Now that you mention it, I distinctly remember playing AOE and CS for hours without any issues whatsoever.

Same for me while playing BC and COD
Same here man. Even Portal 2 gives me a headache and nausea only after 45 mins of playing. :(

Funny thing is that I've played TF2 more than once for around 3-6 hours non-stop and never had any problems. I was just tired, but no nausea or anything. Weird... :S

Now when I think of it. I remember playing the original DOOM at my school media center classroom. One friend was watching. Suddenly he ran out, with a bloated face. "Cannot watch this". Never understood that time.

Though, never had such issues -- with any game.

I have this issue with all FPS games. I can only play racing games for a longer extent without feeling these kind of after-effects. The only exception is TF2. I can play that for a few hours without problems. Can the problem be with my monitor ?

Thank you for starting this thread actually I was thinking to start a thread like this because I as also facing same kind of problem with most of FPS (including dos version of doom, duke nukam …) but I could play AOE,Prince of Persia (old game but new games causing slight problem after several hours of play),NFS most wanted, fifa … without any problem.I thought I am peculiar case affected by this kind of problem.I suspect either inefficient graphics processor
or poorly coded games causing this but after reading reply from others it seems game design is causing this problem.

it's the FOV, it's meddling with your head dude. It happens, you aren't losing your head or eyes (eye strain confirms it's the FOV that's hurting you)

I feel this way in EVERY Unreal Engine 3 based game, hence "AVOID" (not ME though)

What do you mean by FOV  .Is there any way I can come out of this problem or I should avoid FPS kind of games.

mission successful

Borderlands has been converted to a Third Person Role Playing Shooter :D

the Borderlands Config Tool 2.14 did its work beautifully

adjusted the FOV to 101 (default 70)

everything is Freakin fine now

here are some of the pics

sorry couldn't post them earlier

here's a screenie of the config tool

I played Portal for 10 hours straight and after I beat the final level and found the truth about the cake I puked, I will never forget that day and the experience, it was great.

Finished Borderlands Vanilla

now started Dr. Ned's Zombie Island

What can i say? one hell of a game and the Graphics are awesome

not realistic though, you feel like you are living through some comic book adventure

Awesome
