But don't you think that it is going against the Linux legacy.. i mean look at the other apps of Linux.. none of them crash so frequently as KDE does.. I used to be a die hard supporter of KDE 3.5 series.. I was too excited to hear about KDE 4.. but man.. this DE hasn't been that much stable as KDE 3.5 was..

Every one says KDE 4.2 rocks. but I cudnt see anything spl in it. except for the few "eye candy" stuff. I hv no regrets of using Gnome... many of my friends tried to persuade me but Gnome + Compiz rulez... hyeah:

Can someone tell me wats so spl in KDE4.2?

Gnome is better for now.kde is confusing atleast for people like me.I don't want to assemble a desktop environment myself :0

kde-4.2 can be still a beta.

but ,whichever DE works for you-that is your better One.

Compiz works in any DE not Gnome specific.. KDE has Kwin Effects [light on system Compiz] and believe it or not KDE applications are way advanced and useful than Gnome

Dolphin, digikam , k3b [KDE 4 will be soon available], amarok are top of the application that Gnome has no equivalent alternate

i do accept that applications in KDE are better, I myself prefer Kaffine and K3b than Rythmbox and Brasero.

I see no use for KDE as a DE. :hap5: Gnome DE is better. I hv KDE libraries to install these.. and am happy:hap2:

Did you heard about the term "Gnome user and Kde fan"? LOL! that's it.Gnome is too simple and don't asks for daily house keeping.while kde shows you helluva lot of options.but some kde applications sure are much better than gtk ones.
