which version of linux is stable n most promising......there so many -untu's...n all....i dont know...
 
Since you are new to Linux I would recommend Linux Mint 5 and Mandriva 2008.1. I would say download both Mint 5 and Mandriva.. No they don't .. Beryl is an old Project which has merged with Compiz to provide a spanking new 3D composite Manager.. known as Compiz Fusion / /Compiz fusion comes pre-installed in both of 'em :)
