Logitech z623 subwoofer stopped working

Damn, even my Z623 died all of sudden in the past 2 weeks. Simply refuses to even turn on.

Will try and haul it to nehru place if I get them time. Don't trust any shops in Gurgaon :(

That fact that Logitech doesn't even have a repair centre in India is mind blowing. Going to actively avoid its products

My Z623 subwoofer sounds like its blown a membrane or something. It was being played at full volume for an extended time. It sounds like something is damaged inside but I don't know much about the interiors of a speaker.

Anyone have any experience if it can be repaired?

Hello there, I bought this around 7 years back. I m from Bangladesh, it comes with a 3 year replacement warranty. After 1 year of buying, bass stopped working and took it the shop where I purchased. They simply replaced me whole new Z623 intact box.
For last couple of days, that issue came again. Bass totally gone. Volume knob partially works to improve sound volume a lil bit but bass know is non responsive at all.
Do you have any suggestions?
(My warranty period is long gone)

Thanks guys
Yes it worked earlier when fully turning up and down. There's no off switch when fully turned down.

These speakers have the potentiometer dust issues.. just take a flat head and remove both the volume and bass knob covers, add a drop of grease to the shaft and turn them to let the grease get it. It should work normally now. Grease them once the issue is back.

I am facing similar issue, for a long time now. On occasions it works specially if i am playing the music loud the Sub Woofer activates otherwise not so much....

What other steps help? Disconnecting and reconnecting the main VGA Cable or anyother cable for that matter.

But again the subwoofer can go off anytime, a day later, 30 minutes later or whatever. Really Weird.

Question : Does the speaker have a sleep option where the speaker doesn't turn on till substantial volume is raised? Could it be that while L & R speaking are waking up at a volume of 10 the subwoofer is only starting at a volume of 30? I know it's weird.

Any help will be highly appreciated, i love these speakers.

I've the exact same issue on mine. Did you solved it? I also found a 1 inch tear on the subwoofer, could that be the cause?

No, the issue still persists...I am finding it to be around the bass knob. Even if the sub wakes up, you can't be sure that all the frequencies of Bass will be sound. I found this problem when I ran an album in youtube called Bass Test - Subwoofer Test where it has Delta Tones at multiple freq. I am losing my head on this weird issue.

I think i got this problem by using a wrong eq. The bass was boosted wayy to much in that eq which was meant for the dt770. And after that day the sub was never the same.

Believe it or not, if I play Metalcore music on it for 1-2 hours. It remains good for the rest of the day. Never thought listening to metal music will fix these problems of my life too...

If you can Disassemble the speaker and having multimeter then you can probably diagnose it yourself. I have a z906 which I repaired myself in the past, but you might need to de-solder some components also.

You can check the speaker after disassembling and physically pressing the membrane yourself.

Its a blown power supply. Can't find the part anywhere so its just a massive waste of space :(

Which components are blown inside power supply? You could probably repair it yourself if you are having some soldering skills.
Skills - Maybe
Tools - No
Time - No

If this was the IPL, then DRS would tell me to stick to the Umpire's call. Such is life sadly, no time for tinkering these days for me.

For anyone still facing the issue:
I have been facing this exact issue where bass worked full volume but does not on low volume, I thought the potentiometer were the issue at first too. But you need to get inside the subwoofer and painstakingly remove the screws to the power supply motherboard. There is a Varistor V7431U that goes bad in there that needs to be replaced with a new one. If you have a multimiter you can check if it is good or bad. Mine was bad and had same issue as you guys. Hope it helps!
Follow these videos for guidance:
