A friend of mine needs a logo for something of his. Suffice to say that the name will be something STORM(not decided yet:P), and we need a bit of original graphic design work.

we're planning something along the lines of the samsonite/alstom logo

the O in the storm being something like a spiral/twister/whirlpool whatever.

We really would have liked to do this on our own, but we really don't have the time or the creative juices :ashamed:.

The way I plan to go about it is, if you are interested, make a small pic (height 100px, width = as you like it) and send the link to me or post it here if you dont mind publishing it.

I assure you that if your design is chosen, you will be paid. I'm not that unethical to use you folks to make a design and then run off with it :P

If your design is chosen, we will need the source for the artwork, and three templates for powerpoint slides. Minimum compensation will be 1k. If we really like it, we just might pay you a li'l bit more :PReally don't know the rates for such things, this is all we can afford for now :ashamed: We prefer payment via online fund transfer :)

And you will also get first preference on the web design work as and when it comes.

I hope this ad doesnt violate any TE rules :ashamed:

Since we're not clean on the text bit. For the time being, choose MINDSTORM as the working name

Size, for the current image, something with height ~100 px. We need to to put it up as a banner for a shop, and eventually the header for the website etc.

Colour preference - Nothing too bright .Since this will be put up as a banner, the colours shouldnt look too bad even if they fade. Background is preferably solid black or white(a solid colour). foreground, for the text - pastel shades, again, all solid. No 3D /textures etc. The look and feel should be similar to the sample logos posted

Let me see what the folks here can come up with. After seeing the T shirt design nominations, I think there is some potential here :)

Just a few more things we need to specify -

1. As mentioned earlier, the O needs to resemble a spiral. we're emphasizing the STORM bit. The O needs to look like a whirlpool or a storm. essentially a spiral ish look :) this seems to be missing a bit in the designs

2. this is for something related to FPS etc gaming, so the general choice of fonts should be something that should be consistent and should look at home on an FPS game/Action movie cover.

I will show you one more logo with updated font and O.

Its the logo - the O we're focussing on right now. the rest is just incidental. can we have some good looking spirals please :D
 
@ sathyanaidu- we prefer solid (few colours) - kinda like the samsonite/alstom logos - no shading/textures etc. Anyway it looks good. will have my friend have a look :)
 
@greenhorn - May I suggest you state some minimum time frame for which your offer will be open before you decide on any one entry? Will allow those interested in submitting entries time to come up with & build on the concept without fearing that they'll miss the train if they don't rush in their artwork. Just a suggestion.
 
as of now, we havent decided a last date, simply because we havent seen anything we like yet. either way, will announce a closing date a week in advance :)

and the announcement will be only after coming monday, since i'll be offline from fri till then :)

EDIT: actually rapt0r's avatar looks kinda nice. looking for something similar :)
