Hey all, My dad's going to Singapore, the next week, and we're looking to buy a Digicam.... budget MAX Rs 12k. Pls suggest best brand/models.... place to buy from, and price ( if possible both in Singapore Dollars/ Indian Rupees)

Also looking to buy iPOD nano.. 4 gb version. Shud i go for this or go for some other ( possibly better.... is there?) mp3 player. Pls gimme prices... I'll be going thru the threads in the meanwhile.

ok...see if u want from some ...big place..then theres no other place then MUSTAFA CENTRE IN singapore.(in little india)....u will..get each and every electronic...in there ..and its open 24 X 7.....

if u r lookin for some place where u will get cheaper...then theres a small shop..near by called NIRANJAN stores by a sardarji...he sells lottsa electronics..and u will get..what u want at a cheaper...price...its a small shop..but is very nice..as most of the Airlines stafF ..and the merchant navy sailors...buy from him...

@Sultanofswing: I have a Nikon S1 and i'd recommend it... or anything from the S series... else look around for them Canon Powershot series..

Otherwise...even The Mustafa Shopping Centre Is Good Enogh Its Only Little Highly Priced..place.

Its In Little India ,singapore..its Famous In Singapore

Hey.. no one seems to have given my advice on what brand/ model I should go for... I would like one with a pwrful zoom.. Since i attend many concerts ( rock and classical ) it would come in handy for taking pics easily....
 
I considered.. S3 IS but.. it's a lil over my budget no...?

Also are the prices of IPODS same the world over.. or is there any diff....

BTW shud i start a new thread for this iPOD query..cuz i dont seem to gettin any replies for it
 
ok...u will find the NARANJAN guy relible ..many of my electronic goods are from his store..and i havent faced a single problem...the only thing is he wont provide any bill\warranty..which is anyway of not use (mostly)..if u r getting things from singapore ..!

regarding the i-pods ..i think..tht the prices may be slightly..less there cauz the prices are not same worldover..(compared to india and US ...)..maybeu can get an i-pod for a lesser price than india..
 
Buy the digicam from India. just saw an ad for an Olympus 6 MP digicam for abt 6-7 k in the Mumbai Miorror. What u wanna save 1 grand for? Buy it here along with warranty.

Do not buy Panasonic. I have the Lumix FX-7. It sux.
 
canon powershot A540 is a good camera.

sony have decent camera too cybershot w30, w70, w100

nikon have s series and newer L series.

i have seen nikon in operation and i did not like it.

i would recommend canon because of their usability, flexibility in options, user friendly menu.
