Some time back i was going through various distros of linux, i read something bout Media center linux which boots up pretty fast like 2 mins and u r ready to go no fancy things with just can play all u r audio/video files. and also its low on hdd space...

All i found is the LinuxMCE 0704 which i dont think is the same distro i read bout. So any one can put some light on this.

I have used GeeXbox and MoviX2 much before even knowing about Ubuntu.

though both are different categories.

GeeXbox and MoviX2 are limited to Audio Video i.e. like Media Center and they always helped me fulfill my media needs whenever windows crashed and i had no time to format and reinstall windows but at the same time wanted to enjoy my music and movies.

What so special in MCE .. Well as per your request here are few threads started by me Mythbuntu: MythTV + Ubuntu + Openbox. ,GeeXboX:Media Center Edition for Linux., LinuxMCE and KDE Join Hands for new release!

Well You can use any of em .. If you only upto Linux MCE :)

The special thing is i'm a Audio/Video [Multimedia] freak, and would like to build a MCE PC that boots up as soon as i on it and can play all formats..
so i can throw away my divx, dvd player and replace it with this one.
Tho i have a Xbox With XBMC but it doesnt have enough juice to play a HD file smoothly. Thanks for the Links Will download it for testing.
Thanks.
