Questions:-
Looking for a new phone for my mother. She is currently using micromax in 1b. Recently it started heating up and had to change its ic. Its currently in working condition but want to get it exchanged now. I am getting mixed inputs for selling/exchanging it, mostly everyone is giving 2-2.5k, but one retailer is ready to give 3k on exchange. I have no idea about how online exchange people will treat this. WIll prefer more to offline ones, if other members have good online exchange exp then let me know.

She needs lots of storage so expandable is must needed, she is already using 256 card in her previous phone.
Audio jack is good to have.
Amoled screen is good to have. or a crisp lcd.
Good battery life and quick charge atleast 25w.

1. Budget?
A: INR max 15k(+2k/whatever exchange value I get from the old mobile)

2. Preferred display size, type and resolution?
A: anything is fine. just dont want the xl size.

3. Preferred operating system? (Android (with version), iOS, etc).
A: new android version support.

4. Preferred connectivity options? (4G, 3G, 2G etc).
A: 5G would be an added advantage(Not mandatory)

5. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them.
A: would prefer brand with good OTA and warranty support(samsung, oneplus). others are fine but will be on lower end.

6. What is your intended use for this phone (internet, camera, multimedia, mails etc.)?
A: maximum calls, whatsapp, youtube.

7. Single SIM/ Dual SIM?
A: single is fine too.

8. New or Used? Online or Offline?
A: New. Don’t mind buying online

9. Any other requirements?
A: Need good battery backup, storage expansion slot(mandatory), audio jack(is possible would be preffered)

10. If you have already considered a phone, then please mention the model
A: Looked around samsung m35, cmf phone1. nord ce4 lite

Would advise to go for Samsung m35 much improved processor than m34 … good update policy, knox security, one ui automation is really handy + easy service centre/ repair cost … moto g85 is also good especially camera

Seconding the Samsung M35 recommendation for parents since

1) Spares cost is lesser than all other brands in the market
2) Can track phones if they are lost even if the sim is removed using other Samsung phones
3)6000 mah so good battery backup, call recording also is a plus point.
4) Good update policy, my mom's Samsung got regular security updates.

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G (Light Green, 6GB RAM, 128GB Storage) | Super AMOLED | 50MP Triple Camera with Ultra Wide Lens | 6 OS & 6 Years Security Updates | IP54 | Tap & Pay | 5000mAh

Samsung Galaxy M35 5G (Thunder Grey,6GB RAM,128GB Storage)| Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+| AnTuTu Score 595K+ | Vapour Cooling Chamber | 6000mAh Battery | 120Hz Super AMOLED Display| Without Charger

With the above phones you can exchange any old phone and pay the remaining.

Don't know how much your old phone would fetch. You can get base variant of any one of these including charger for ~15k, these are the best in my view
CMF Phone 1 (you can even get 8+128 variant in your budget)
Samsung M35
Realme P3
Vivo T3 (with current offers this is the cheapest I have ever seen for this one)

I was going to buy this over amazon for 14.2k but then saw it on swiggy with 3% discount and listed there for 13.5k and bought it there. Just did setup until now.
Will check my observations and let you know.
Whats with the charger market it is filled with so many options. Dont know which one to buy now.
The old micromax charger even though its 25w, it doesnt show fast charging written when phone was charging, it was slow and heating the phone a little.
My wifes redmi note13 pro buly 65w charger is showing fast charging. But i was not sure if i should use it, can anyone suggest what should i do for charging purpose?
Thanks.
