Hi All,
I have a 4yr old AMD powered rig. Till now I have been running it without UPS as I have been getting clean power till now. But now things are changing. constant voltage fluctuations and low voltage, sometimes it reach so low that even Tube light fail to start. stupid electricity dept
Now I fear that I might fry up my PC:no:
So I am looking for a very basic UPS which can handle voltage fluctuations and supply clean power to machine.I need a reliable product which has big warranty. budget wise I don't want to spend do much as its a old rig and after it dies I would be buying a Lappy. so UPS would go unused.
I am currently looking for UPS below 2k which are locally available. heard, APC is good but local vendors say its failure rate is high and their service is not good in this area. so they advise against it. Plus, APC is costly compared to other brands. what you say? I am looking at Mirotek,Numeric or maybe APC(other please suggest)
Machine Specs:
Amd Athlon 64 3000+ based
17" inch CRT monitor
300W PSU
Dlink Modem/router
I calculated power usage with eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5. it came out to be 214W. I think any basic UPS would be able to handle it.
Please make some recommendations with exact model no according to my usage
Thanks
