Looking for a Laptop under 50k, details inside

I'm stuck between the XPS 15 with the 540M (for 58k) vs DV6 with HD6770M (for 52k)

Which of these cards is better?

No equivalent alternative for around the same price from Sony, ASUS etc?

^^Everyone is bundling entry level GPUs in the laptops,HP is your only bet for a good GPU.

Hm yeah even the Dell XPS with highest config has a worse card than the DV6. I'm going for it, thanks a lot guys

you had problems due to the Amd turion processor in your laptop whereas this a completely redesigned laptop along with intel sandybridge setup,HP ASS will be atleast better than the pathetic Apple india service:

Is the HP DV6 6017tx available with an HD Screen in india?
I read somewhere that if one is going to do heavy programming (which I will, since I'm going to do CSE), one should seriously consider a high def screen since it'll help me a lot.
And that 720p on a 15.6 inch screen is a waste.

No FULL HD option on the DV6 6017/6021 in India.

Oh yeah my bad.

I'd be willing to go for a laptop with an i5 if that means an upgrade to an FHD. But then i5's don't have GPUs as good as the 6770.

^^ In your budget you can get either Sony Vaio CB 15 for 51k - i5 2410m,6630m 1gb, backlit keyboard, 500gb 7200rpm hdd, 15.5 inch Full HD screen OR

Dell XPS 15 with B+RG FHD screen ( I think around 54k with i3 and 57k with i5)
