SW supports DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB with hardware calibration and 4k resolution.
PD is only 2k and only supports sRGB. No hardware calibration options either.
Buy whatever based on your need - if you need the higher color volume and luminosity of Adobe RGB or DCI-P3, then the PD makes no sense.
As for color calibration, get an i1 display pro or colormunki. I have the former.
