1. Tata Indicom pay per call
2. Reliance GSM 1 Re per 3 minutes.

Buy some credit from yahoo.
I heard that that was the cheapest one.

Otherwise U can go for MTS although network sucks but saves money.
After throwing the SIM card for 2 times I got a new Sim yesterday.:@

but isnt tata plan much better i think their pay per call plan is around re. 1 for 10 min. correct me if i am wrong.

anything from MTNL as my dad and a few friends also own connections from MTNL. If MTNL to MNTL is free then that will be another good option.

tata one is cdma bro.
reliance gsm/bro.

For general purpose but STD minded plan go for any 1ps/sec plan.

The amount you save compared to Re1/3min is high when you often end up making tiny conversations.

Re1/3min is best for those who talk for long time with family/friends in another state.

Oh yaar its my wife.

@getsetgo_008 thanks for clarifying the difference. i definitely want GSM.

I think i will go for the 1 re/3 min plan as that will be the cheapest option than the 1p/sec plan.

So now apart from reliance does any other GSM provider has this plan like vodafone or airtel? how is the reliance network.

Nowadays, every provider is providing per second billing.

If you want to buy a new number, then u can go in for Aircel. Which has per second billing all over india and 500 sms free with a value voucher of 39 bucks.

IMO .. Reliance GSM/CDMA both are good.

In CDMA prepaid u can recharge ur phone for 999 rs and then Reliance to Reliance ( CDMA only ) is free. so no mess of recharging everytime ....:hap2:

i have personally used both GSM and CDMA i must say cdma has better coverage than GSM.

TATA pay per min or pay per call is not available in mumbai . or delhi.:@

Buy 2 cheap CDMA phones, one for urself and one for her. Get a tata indicom postpaid "HONEST 450" plan on ur phone. Give a tata indicom sim to her with lifetime validity with Rs.10 balance :P

Call her or ANY tata indicom number 24x7 for FREE !!
PS : I am using it :P

EDIT : I just checked, its not available in Delhi. Where is your wife located?

I heard vodafone had launched Rs. 34 sms pack which is unlimited sms both local and national. This pack is valid for 30 days with max 300 sms per day.

So in 30 days you will get 30x300 = 9000 sms so unlimited sms plan.

tata pay per call is only available in NCR - Delhi. it has not yet come to india.

reliance plan ( pay per call - rs 1 per 3 min) is best as of now. if possible get reliance card only for rs 11. it has no talktime however. but i cannot find this scheme anywhere in ghatkopar and mulund.

if you want mtnl to mtnl calls cheap then go for new 3g card where calls to mtnl mumbai and delhi n/w are at rs 0.2 per min.

if you look closely at the MTS ads for mumbai the fine print is that the tariff (1 paise per 2 sec) is valid only for six months. after six months i think plan will become per second billing. also being CDMA, you will need a new phone.

I have opted for reliance pay per call plan. bought the sim and activated. just have to recharge it now. Thanks guys for all the help and comments.
