Graphic Cards Looking for Low end graphic card

Hi guys I am looking for a low end graphic card for m,a old pc..I have a p4,250 w psu:@ 1.2 gb ram.
My mobo supports only pci slot no pci-e slot.
I had in mind 7600 gs card?Just wanted ur advise.
My expextations r it shld able to play 720 p movies smooth ubuntu effects:P and ofcourse play some games like fear :P
If anyone willing to sell off their old card do pm me.:)
 
u having AGP slot??? Then i 7600GS\GT might b ur best buy....also for AGP 2600XT n 3650 r available ..dunno for PCI
 
7600GT is ur best bet provided you get it in PCI. I have the 7600gs and it does no good to 720p, as it does not have purevideo HD, get a nvidia card with purevideo hd or ati's card h/w implementation of the x.264. Since u'll have to use GPU acceleration as ur cpu aint gonna help much playing hd.
 
Another option would be getting rid of the current stuff and going for a 780g based mobo + 4000/4400+ from AMD.

This should cost you no more than 6K and u'll fetch around 1-2K for ur existing stuff, so almost ur card's budget would fetch you a very capable HTPC like setup.
 
I think its better to sell off the board+proc & go for something like sarang suggested. It'll provide much better performance & be future proof than investing in a card. Moreover finding a good PCI card that suits your requirements is difficult & even if you find one it'd most probably be overpriced.

So better go for a new board+proc combo rather than investing in a graphics card..

BTW are there any 7600GT/7600GS available with PCI interface??
 
He was asking abt pci interface not pci -e.
Tell me best deal for pci slot man...i cant upgrade as of now ..just need one for 6 months thts it
 
better get a pci-e mobo for 1.5k around + 8600gt , no use of getting pci card . i think only some 5 series cards are available in pci like FX5200 .

Wont help .. he has a puny 250W PSU

Gigabyte board GA-8I915Me-F6 wit both agp and pci express 16X slots-1.6k

400W PSU Try TE Market ~Rs750

Second hand 8600GT Rs2500

Total: Rs4800
 
Dude ur PSU is just too low for any decent Card....

I wud suggest a second hand ATI x550 PCI-E 256mb coz it will share 128mb of ur existing RAM n put ur 1.2gb memory to slight use if needed
