OS X tiger etc are all name of Apples Operation Systems.

Macintosh Operating System X. This is a newer version of MAC OS. Mac OS used to run only on Apple comps with Power PC proccy, but now they have X86 support and u can run Mac OS on normal x86 comps. Since the most highly talked about thing about Mac OS is the graphics other that the stability. So there are many themes which have tried to copy the same icon/color/look to Windows. So peeps above are talking about that (i hope ).

Here is the basic MAC OS chronology.

* 6.1 Mac OS X v10.0 (Cheetah)

* 6.2 Mac OS X v10.1 (Puma)

* 6.3 Mac OS X v10.2 (Jaguar)

* 6.4 Mac OS X v10.3 (Panther)

* 6.5 Mac OS X v10.4 (Tiger)

* 6.6 Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard)

Mac OS is based on BSD ( unix ). Apple have developed their own graphics system on top of that. Even Windows XP could not match the clarity and colors of an Apple Desktop.

Oh and u can follow up here

Apple - Mac OS X
