My phone was flicked in a local train , few years back . An F.I.R using some contacts helped me get it back in 45 days . :)
Do you get SAME phone or other but same model :)

Does installing these softwares slow down your iphone? Am using iphone 3g and after the latest iOS update it's not as snappy as it used to be.Don't want it to slow down even more. Besides are these apps password protected so that the thieft can't uninstall it ??

The iOS4 update brings the iPhone 3g to a crawl. It's in the news everywhere. You might get an update resolving that issue but I highly doubt it.

@Rajshah: You have to contact & look for RTI officer for your area's police. U can luk 4 it thru net by ur area's police website.

If you have the right contacts in BSNL, they can track the phone down for you.

There is a department in BSNL (mobile wing or something). You have to register a police complaint and give them the details (complaint number and mobile IMEI). Whenever the phone is switched on with a SIM inside, it is possible to track your phone, regardless of which SIM is used (BSNL, idea, airtel whatever). They can track down the mobile based on the tower; they can even get you the complete record for that IMEI including calls/messages received, made...even if the phone was just switched on with an Indian SIM inside, they can track the data. All mobile operators provide this data to them - it's some kind of government mandate I guess.

But to get this working, you'll need proper contacts in BSNL - check if any of your friends, relatives work in BSNL- I'm sure they can find the phone for you.

Oh! Didn't know all that. Thanks. Now, to look for someone at BSNL.

Now a day’s theft and loss of our cell phones are increasing day by day therefore we would like to protect our mobile phones so it is recommended that you should purchase an insurance for your cell phones because you have paid a huge amount for them so instead of spending money in purchasing a new one you should buy an insurance policy which is much more affordable.
