Yeah i know .. but the option is enabled in the settings menu .. and set to "low" .. compare with the screenie i posted earlier .. the iq difference is barely noticeable .. even if it is bloom ... ... i get better fps with minimal iq loss ..

Here are some DirectX 9 vs DirectX 10 scores @ 1280x720 max settings ... the effects were definately not worth the loss in fps ...



Avg : 68 | Snow : 67 | Cave : 38



Avg : 49 | Snow : 49 | Cave : 32

Will post a few more screenies later ... those looking to play it will have to install the April 07 version of DirectX else would get file missing error, though you could get the files from here and here

Screen resolutions differ - screen size for dx10 is 1280x1024 despite it being reported as 1280x720. You can't really compare frame rates in this case.

Guys what do I use to capture screenies in Vista ?? Fraps doesn't work and prnt screen only captures one frame at a time

Yea, the game runs at something around 50 to 70 fps on default on me comp. But fraps doesn't work and printscreen captures a black screen.

Finally some DirectX9 vs 10 screenies ... took some effort to get these , had to run the game in windowed mode to capture the screenies, so ignore the frame rate

Nice comparison.
I find hardly any difference to justify a 50% performance hit.

Frames would have been the same, but he's getting hit in DX10 probably because of windowed mode.
