Laptops Low cost VFM Laptop

Iam planning to buy a laptop for basic use such as browsing,programming in C,C++,and using MS Office. And no gaming at all.I wont even play Minesweeper:P
My budget is 25k max:ashamed:
Brand: Any brand!
And also please tell me where to buy it in Bangalore........
 
For 25k you will only get a celeron based laptop. Try to increase your budget to 29 to 30k, you can find dual core, which is better option when compared to celeron. Or if you have someone coming from US of A, ask them to get a laptop from there (you will get a good deal).
 
Its not only power , but the ability to mutitask many things at the same time .
Its a safe investement to thrown in 4-5 k more and get a good system ,which not be outdated soon.
 
Ok i have increased the budget to 30k max.I wonder why there arent assembled laptops like assembled pc's!

And i would go for a lappy with preinstalled linux or DOS.You must be knowing the reason for that................................!!!!!

Dude.....care to expand that...dont spread such false rumors :P At least not on a tech forum :) somewhere else u might get away with it..not here ;)
 
But most of the members are saying celeron procs are bad.Are they that bad?

And will i be able to use Vista(with Aero) by adding 1gb RAM to the celeron procy?
 
Ok.no probs.i will be happy with win Xp.Please suggest me the model number and the minor upgradations i need to do to get decent performance at low cost and also iam completely noob when it comes to laptops!

Also please tell me where i can get good bargains on laptops in b'lore.....

Buy an ACER Aspire 5310NWXMi it is 27k & a nice lappy- only add a 512 MB DDR2 laptop RAM for about 1k. My cousin bought one & it serves him well for internet & all his office work. Best is it has a cam, DVD writer & has a nice bright 15.4 screen
 
you can get a HCL laptop with dual core processor, DVD writer, 1 GB RAM, et all in a good deal for around 30k.

Clue: Try PMing Mask ;)

You can also try Dell Lattitude D520, which is with dual core, 1 gb ram, inbuilt bluetooth 80 GB HDD for around 32k. (remind you, this is not a widescreen)
 
I am not increasing your budget, I am just telling what all options available around 30k. Its ultimately upto you to decide on the budget and the product.
