my suggestion -

Intel Core i5 760 @ 9.8k
MSI P55 GD65 @ 7.9k
G.Skill 4GB DDR3 1600 Ripjaws Kit @ 4.5k
Corsair VX550W @ 4.7k
CM Elite 430 @ 2.7k

Total - 29.6k

CPU - Intel Core i-3 540 ~ Rs.5150

Motherboard - Gigabyte H55M-S2 ~ Rs.3650

RAM - Corsair XMS3 4GB Kit ~ Rs.4100

SMPS - Corsair CX400 ~ Rs.2700/ Corsair VX450 ~ Rs.3500

Cabinet - CM Elite 310 ~ Rs.1500/ NZXT Gamma ~ Rs.2100

Total: 17100-18500

The i-3 has low power consumption and should be ideal for 24*7 usage. Save up the rest for a monitor, GPU upgrade.

As u are watching a lot of HD movies get yourself a 22" or 24" full HD monitor(8k-11k)

so whats left hmm,

motherboard : MSI p55a gd55 : 6,500

Graphics card : 6850 : 11000 (why wait for a month when you can get a good graphics card now )

TOtal : 32,950

Looking at the computer you have, your requirements, i feel a core i3 based computer should also be good for you.

You should try and get at least a 22" 1080P LCD monitor for watching HD movies.

Also, please decide how much you want to spend as some may want to suggest something very inexpensive and some may want tospend all your 30K or more.

If you need a vfm AMD config for 'low end gaming + 24x7 use + downloading +HTPC+ ... '

X3 435 - 3.5K approx

ASUS M4A88T-M - 4.8K approx ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

2x 2GB Corsair DDR3 1333MHz/1600MHz kit - 4K approx

Corsair CX400 - 2.5K-2.7K approx

NZXT Gamma - 2K approx/CM Elite 430 - 2.8K approx

Total- 17K-18K approx

You don't need a graphic card for low end gaming if you go AMD way. Motherboard & Processors are cheaper even than intel. If you have enough money to waste, consider intel. If you want VFM and still the system better than intel, then go for AMD. As simple as that.

thanks guys ... but all of u have posted Intel config. .... can someone post AMD config pls :)

AMD Phenom II X4 945~6.5 k

Gigabyte GA 880 GMA ~6k

Corasir XMS 3 4gb ~4k

Corsair VX450 ~3.5k

NZXT Gamma ~2k

and later get a GTX 460

Go with the rig Dark Angel sugggested... i3 540 performs very well in gaming as well as in encoding videos... Rather than just being faster it also consumes less power ;)

i3 rig will be a bit expensive if u'll compare it with an amd based rig but yeah one thing for sure that i3 processor is faster than any AMD triple core processor in gaming as well as in encoding... ;)

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a low-end gaming rig. I just play Counter Strike online. Nothing else. So let me know if anyone in Bangalore is selling his rig or what would you suggest me to buy. I just have my monitor+keyboard+mouse+speakers. So in all, I just need you to tell me which cabinet and what all to go inside it.

Cheers,

D

For cabinet I would suggest a NZXT Gamma ~ 2K + 2x 120mm fans ~ 2.8K = better airflow than the Cooler Master Elite 430 and looks cooler too :)

For the card either the ATI Radeon HD 6850 or current generation ATI card 5830 much better than the GTS 450 and more power efficient than the GTX 460 so save on PSU

For processor either the Athlon II x4 645 or DarkAngels configuration of Intel as I am unaware of i3 series performance/price value :ashamed:

Bench - CPU - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News ~ the AMD quad core offers better multitasking support ( coz four real cores ) + more value in my view

if you want it to be cheap

buy a tricore athlon

880g based mobo

4 gig ram

a good psu

a good body

buy a 5670 and another monitor

use eyefinity and enjoyyy

I don't think Eyefinity on such a low end card should be done, and it makes more sense to go for a quad core Athlon II or Phenom II x 4 940 than a tri-core at the same price point :cool2:

Bench - CPU - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News - Athlon II x3 450 vs. Athlon II x4 645 ~ multi thread monster plus decent lead on single thread apps too :eek:hyeah:

Bench - CPU - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News - Athlon II x4 645 vs. Phenom II x4 940 ~ quad cores rivalry +1 for a Athlon II x4 645 based system :bleh:

Bench - GPU - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News ~ the AMD HD 5750 is struggling at HD resolution can't take Eyefinity and you see the HD 5670 doing Eyefinity  , dude get your specifications right

the game he is going to play can be easily handled by the radeon 4200 along with an athlon x2

the tri core suugestion was to reduce power consumption

as far as eyefinity is concerned i think even the 5450 can take two desktop screens in eyefinity

his usage would have very less load on the pc

hes not gonna play even gtasa
