Guys After 2 years iv saved about 5k now to get a new gpu ..

iv chosen to go for Sapphire HD 5670 512MB one which cost's 4.7k @ primeabgb .
my pc specs are

INTEL Prentium D 925 3.00GHZ 4MB l2 Catche memory Processor
INTEL D945GCNL Motherboard
Trancend 2GB DDR2 800MHZ Ram
Segate 160GB HDD
XTECH [ Local ] 400w Psu with 14amps at +12v rail
a Acer V203H monitor ...

i know there is a possibility of bottlenecking but i just want games to runn at decent resolutions like 1280x900 2x or 4xAA as per the game's performance

and i will surley upgrade to a Phenom x4 + a 785G mobo + a branded PSU or any new ones which come in 6 months time or so ..

but the problem right now which im confused with is my PSU
it has 14amps which seem a Caution sign to runn even a 8500GT :(
i asked many of my friends but half of them say that it dosent needs a 6 pin power connection and its max TDP is under 100w so it could runn easily

and some said that its dangerous .. and i might end up burning or losing my 5k :(

so can anyone give me a conformation bang so that i could conform to one thing please ...

also by giving this 8400GS which is under warranty also .. i might get 800 bucks for that from the store itself so ill have 1 or 1.1k more

guys please do reply me .. im seriously sad'ly sick with lagg gaming and just Cs 1.6 everday :@

Thanks in Advance For ur Reply'es
:D

hi,

my suggestion is you upgrade in this order.

1.Good motherboard and Proccy.(x2 555be(maybe unlock to x4) ,785G - ~8k)

2.Good Psu.(gigabyte 450W~2k)

3.finally the graphics card.(whatever card you can afford at that point)

This way you can start with some entry level gaming on your onboard graphics card and in a few months you will be able to buy a graphics card. But it is highly recommended that you upgrade the

PSU first.Buying a GPU first is not advisable for the same reasons you mentioned - bottlenecking and the damage your PSU can cause. So be patient and don't risk damaging your hardware.:)

Hmmm... the Radeon 5670 doesn't require separate power and is a sub 100 Watt so it'll still work with the local smps (your whole rig will pull out 210-230 Watts under full load) but I seriously suggest getting a entry level 350 Watts/400 Watts PSU... Why risk the 5,000 bucks that you are investing unnecessarily? Spend about 1,800 extra and get a decent PSU...

yea btw
i can sell this 8400GS + this 400w psu at 1.2k , Sapphire HD 5670 512MB one cost's 4.7k so ill have about 6.2k :D ill buy any good 400w or 450 any local ones

there are many here like mron alpha 700w one which cost 850 Rs. and also it has some 30 + AMps @ 12v rail .. so thanks guys :D really appriciate and btw
@nuke'em thanks but currently i just want to runn games without lag in myc new pc so and im sick of this 8400GS and everday Cs so wanna move on ...
thanks for ur relply .. ill surley and shortly upgrade as well but currently seriously i need that son of a B**** HD 5670 :):hap2:

yea buy a good psu first, local ones supply a lot less than they are rated for and they WILL fail sooner or later(personal experience), n theres a chance of collateral damage if it fails.

You better upgrade to a better PSU first !! You get VIP 400 at 1.6 or 1.7 !! You might end up regretting saving bucks for geting a new GPU !! Lol;-)

get the psu first , its risky to run your investment on such a psu. You can get a decent one for ~ 1.5k and then upgrade to the gpu whatever your budget allows :)

Yea,u need a good PSU, at least for HD5670 ATM.

If u don't want to buy a new PSU ATM then u should buy Nvidia GT240.....

yo guys .. Thanks a lot

i just found a guy selling his 6 months old MSI HD 5670 1GB for 4.5k about 4-5 days before . i talked to him and somewhat made him into my talks

i decreased its price to 3.2k and brought that with a SilverStone SST-ST50F-ES Power Supply of 500w with 34 amps at single 12vrail

well i know that dosent matter but it just costed me 2.9k so

a total of 6.1k :D and now loving playing Crysis at 1600x900 :D Thanks Guys :) really appriciate u all
