I regularly download stuff i want to enjoy on my TV, on DVD-R's. The ps2 cannot read multisession DVD-R's, it always only shows up the files burnt on the first session so now i'm opting for a proper new dvd+divx player that can read multisession DVD-R's.

And if possible, DVD+RW's as well but its not that important. Thanks for any heads up.

Lowest priced would be a videocon dvd/divx player, priced around 3.5k. No idea about the chipset nor the performance, hell i even forgot the model no. For no hassles get the philips 5106k, has everything you want. :) Havent tried multi session dvds myself but reads dvd+rw pretty well.

No.. I have a philips 5106K and it doesnt read Multisession disks.. BUt u will never regret buying it...
I reads anything u throw at it..

Yeah, i think it'll be hard finding a one that does play.

So any other model cheaper than the 5106k that plays DVD RW just as good?? or else 5106k it is then if its that good. What's its price?

RW can be a suitable alternative to multisessions :)

^^ 4.5k is the price. Mitashi has a model which is just about the same as the philips model so i havent recommended it. i have no idea about the chipset inside the videocon player, maybe you could take a sample dvd and try all the formats, xvid, packed bitstream xvid, qpel, gmc et all.

Videocon model number is the 77S.

It is a pretty good player and plays everything but not sure of multi-session. One dealer had quoted 2.7 K a few months ago.

Excellent value if you can live with the videocon brand name without flinching.

it has alot of bugs, therz a review @ anotehr site if u can check, most of the picture AR gets F^%$#ed so id suggest against buyin videocon, mitashi heck is 100x better
philips rox,
im using a samsung one,got usb host play too so no need to even burn :D

Phillips 5106k does NOT support multisession!!! I have personally tried.

In fact, it is unlikely that ANY will support multisession. The reason is, multisession is not actually defined in the standard for DVDs, but XP and above still support it.

Bought 5106k for 4.7k. But it doesn't support Divx version 6. I know its new and rare, but it may become the medium for the upcoming year. I heard one can perfrom firmware upgrades on 5106k which makes it support Divx 6 on Afterdawn. Is it true?? How do i upgrade the 5106k then??
