LTT Expose by Gamers Nexus

The videos IMO are purely entertainment. The worst part is, others from his group are also affected. Many of them want to work more meticulously, but are time bound by their boss, and because they want to appease him they stick to his schedule and shenanigans rather than providing friction. This could be pure projection, but during some videos where Linus was corrected by his employees, they seemed soo happy that they could say it to his face lol.

It is shown in the GN video itself that everyone complains about the lack of time. It is Linus who pushes them to publish and to not spend time/money to do it right. Not sure what the CEO can do if Linus still owns the group. The culture comes from it's founder.

Has anyone watched the WAN show, what does the guy on the right actually do? Is his job just to quietly provide prompts for Linus to go on rants about?
I have only watched the one clip from the GN video (timestamp link) where Linus is saying he can't justify spending his employees' time for the restesting. The guy on the right prompts it by saying very meekly that it should be retested with the component it was designed for. I feel sorry for this chap having to sit there and be a yes man week after week.

He's Luke, one of the oldest members of LTT but he quit a long time ago except for WAN show appearances. He's one of the more likeable people on his team but has been reduced to a yes man understandably.
They're no longer a bunch of nerds holed up inside of a house doing random stupid projects, this was the last project of theirs before their gradual descent into a corporate infotainment media entity.

I believe Luke is 'the' and not 'one of the' oldest member(s) of LTT. Back when Linus was still doing videos on garbage handheld video devices, Luke caught his attention with his Mineral Oil Cooled PC.

He hasn't quit LTT/LMG. He went on to become the COO of Floatplane, which is a streaming company under Linus, where you get "early access and behind-the-scenes videos" for a price. He's now CTO at LMG. He's still COO at Floatplane, but someone else mostly handles that role. He doesn't appear on camera anymore save for WAN.

Taking responsibility is a step in the right direction, and this video seemed like a genuine attempt at it. Linus's wife clearly wants to scale down to produce better content.
If it was only about GN video, this should have sufficed.
But the Madison allegations have opened up a can of worms. If there were other victims of sexual harassment or hostile work environment who were too afraid to speak up fearing public reaction, they might just find the courage to do so now. It could be a snowball effect.

Also, they made mistakes in the apology video too. They showed the price of the Billet Labs block, even though Billet specifically asked not to make that number public and used $XXXX in all their posts. Even Gamers Nexus made it clear that BL didn't want the figure to be public knowledge. They also made the apology video monetised even though GN refrained from monetising their original piece. Talk about irony! The crude attempts at humour in an apology video are so LTT signature behaviour and cringe. They appear to still not reading the room.

Yes, the Madison situation has opened up Pandora's Box unless addressed. This was not seen coming.

In retrospect, her only-on-screen video appearance is now even harder to watch now. She was a great presence in the video, tbh.

I think they blurred it out now but out of curiosity how much was it?

And I agree with what you said, video was absolutely tone deaf. I can't speak much about the rest of the employees but Linus seems to always try and play the victim card, was it really necessary to show "Oh these people on the internet called me this and that". Is it even an apology?

His "response"
PR damage control, hastily get others senior employees in front of the camera to misdirect and pacify the community. Just look at the head of labs, does not look earnest at all; very forced.

No real accountability of the past and present, just claims of how they will do things better in the future. Typical corporate horseshit. Linus still playing the victim card.

Corporate mismanagement and employee/vendor mistreatment of medium-large firms with influence rarely comes out in public, this only happened because Stephen really dug in and he has a very positive public image. I doubt things will improve at LMG. Time will tell.

Yeah nobody in that video looks sincere. The CEO's eyes look dead like he's being held at gunpoint, and for everyone you can see it's obvious they're reading from a prompter.

The CFO is again playing the victim card and trying to gaslight everyone into feeling sorry for them.

Bunch of BS all around in that video, to be honest.

And keeping the video monetized with merchandise ads when GN chose to forego it for their video is an ace move.

Oh, I missed this drama. I do watch most of the LTT videos but only for Lulz. I don't watch any system-building videos as I don't think Linus is a good system builder. He likes to do it in the most janky way possible.

Also, I wouldn't say I like their unboxing videos—especially the ones with that guy with a super deep voice. He gives many incorrect details about Chinese phones and suggests we all should buy Samsungs.

I love WAN shows though. I set alarms on Saturdays just specifically for them. I wake up, start the WAN show and then sleep to it. BEST SLEEP EVER! They make my Saturdays. You guys should try them.
