Luggage lost or missed...i am in panic...

My brother was returning from USA and he was bringing ipod touch 4g 32gb for me from USA (i paid him for that)........ Today he called me and told that he is at IGI airport and he has not received the Suitcase in which my ipod was kept.....

What are the chances that he will get his suitcase and if he will not get it, will he be compensated for that?
Please guys help me, i want to know will i get my ipod and what are the probabilities??

Dont lose hope, there are definitely chances of getting the suitcase back. Nowadays the systems have become a lot better and generally there are able to trace the suitcase. It Happened to friend of mine as well a few weeks back, she was returning to Bangalore via Paris on Air France. When she landed in Bangalore she didnt get her bag. Air france couldnt find the bag for a few days, and so they told my friend she would get compensation of $20 per kg for the bag or something. She had stuff worth more than $1000 according to her. Finally after 5 days of landing they found her bag
 
I seriously feel (and hope) that your bro is kidding and playing a prank on you... :P

My cousin did this to me once when he was getting an air pistol for me... He told me that the pistol was confiscated by the customs at the Airport. :@

I was really pissed and depressed that my Crossman was not coming home... I even began drafting a notice to send to the Customs citing all relevant GRs and notifications!! :O

But he had brought it with him... :yahoo:
 
Hey not to worry. This has happened to me so many times and I have got back my bag within 48hrs. In fact they deliver it at y'r doorstep (Not AI, but international airlines).

Only once did I get my bag damaged for which I claimed $100 and got $75 from Air India(this was around 10yrs back).

So pray that your bag is not damaged. In that case there is a chance that items may fall-off.
 
Dude.....if the airline lost his bag, he will surely get it back as its very VERY rare for a bag to be lost altogether. Nonetheless, its not advisable these days to keep expensive stuff in check-in baggage as cases of theft have been on the rise (if Rahul Gandhi's mobile can be stolen, who are we lesser mortals) at IGI especially for flights coming in from countries such as Europe & the US, typical places where people buy stuff which sells for mucho dineros in India.

Same thing happened to me 2-3 months back.. Singapore Airlines lost my baggage but I got it within 36 hours at my doorstep..
 
You cud have simply created a thread with luggage being stolen/missing.

You seem more concerned for ur ipod.. 'For which u paid money for'..
 
Chill dude. The baggage might have been misplaced somewhere. Your brother will be getting the bag back soon if et al he has reported to the concerned authorites :P
