Lumia 525 To Be Announced This Month With Lumia 1520 and 2520

Nokia has already launched the successor of its mid-range phone Lumia 620 as the Lumia 625, now its budget Windows Phone Lumia 520 is expected to get a successor soon in the form of Lumia 525.

The Lumia 525 is codenamed Nokia Glee, according to a tweet by @evleaks. The Lumia 520 has been most successful Windows Phone till now and the Lumia 525 is expected to continue the success.

The phone was spotted on GFXbench recently which gjves us some of its specs including a 1GHz Dual-core Krait processor and Adreno 305 GPU ( same as the Lumia 520 ). The screen resolution is also reported as 800x480, but screen size is not yet known, we expect it to be bigger than Lumia 520. RAM is also expected to remain 512MB as the Lumia 625 also got just 512MB.



TheVerge reports that the smartphone may be focused for Music and may come bundled with special Nokia earphones.

The Lumia 525 is rumored for announcement later this month at their upcoming event onOctober 22 in Abu Dhabi along with other products including first Nokia phablet Lumia 1520 and Lumia 2520 tablet running Windows RT.

Sometimes i feel with so many devices from the same company and all having numeric model numbers (as in no name), people may get confused a lot. Rather there should clearly distinct less number of models in different price points and that may help consumers to drill down what is good for them rather than getting lost in plethora of choices.
I know choices are good.

Once these are announced, I am hoping the 520 price would drop below 7k. Right now its in high 7000 range. Definitely worth it, but hey I want to pay less

i believe there wouldn't be a drastic change, as they already have the 625 closely slotted to it
might come with music oriented features, or some other marketing gimmick
