Stupid Question, maybe, but are these just headphone amplifiers?

Any idea how they would sound with the Altec Lansing MX5021? And does it replace the need of a soundcard or modding the speakers?

Appreciate any inputs!

I am about to spend 20K on a hifi system. Tomorrow itself. Please tell me how soon can you get this stuff. If its before christmas I may change my mind and order it from u.
