Laptops MACBOOK----prices??

Hi could u tell the prices of Apple's notebooks. i want to know if there are notebooks(APPLE) below 50k.

Its for $999 in the US.. thats about 41k... so decide for yourself if the premium of buying from India is worth it.

Even the base macbook comes with 1GB of RAM. Plus Tiger runs without any problems on 512MB RAM unlike the resource hog Vista.

^I concur. My Powerbook G4 with half a gig of RAM runs Tiger 10.4.10 smoothly. I'm willing to take any dissenters up on the offer

hi i want to use just MAYA and also do some internet. so is it affordable?
i need one which i can upgrade later(RAM n HDD) now i need such a one for 30-40k.

Lol thats like saying I just want a car that has 500 bhp and does 200mph. With that budget, you could get a decent desktop that can handle Maya...

Why is a macbook so desirable over a PC equivalent ?

..its not like it has software you don't get on a PC, more likely the other way around. So Tiger is nice & all but comes at a price.

ok..here it is straight: No macbooks below 40k in India or anywhere else

Try the US for 41 k approx

India prices will start around 60k

Because the system requirements for Maya cannot be accomplished in a laptop for 40k.

@alex: If getting a desktop is not an option, your best bet would be to get an HP/Lenovo that are easily available for around 40-42k...C2D, 1 Gig ram....and you will have to do with Onboard gfx.
