I want to upgrade my 13" macbook pro , ram from the stock 2gb to 4gb ,

a reviewer said that his mac ran 'snappier' with 1333 ram instead of the stock 1066 ghz , any ideas if it supports 1600 ?

specifically :Newegg.com - Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model KHX1600C9S3K2/4GX - Laptop Memory

or should i stick to : Customer Reviews Of G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-4GBSQ - Retail

which seems like a safer bet.

On the Harddrive front.. want to buy a 500gb one.. which brand is the best in the laptop segment (reliability wise) ? If I am not wrong.. Apple macbooks come with Fujitsu Harddrives , any idea if I can source them in India ?

Thanks for your Help.
:)

Stick to 1066Mhz. The Gskill is fine..

As for the hard drives, the WD Scorpio is quite nice. I'm using the 250GB Scorpio on my Mac Mini.

If battery life isn't much of an issue, get the 7200rpm version, considerably faster.

There's no point in getting a 1333/1600 Mhz RAM. The Processor supports 1066 only, maximum benefit would be running at a lower latency which again would be similar to the 1066 vanilla RAM.

There could also be stability issues, just get a rated RAM.

P.S: the Seagate 7200 RPM HDD SUCKS, Get a WD500BEVT, its a 5400 Rpm (still faster than the 7200 seagate) and is absolutely stunning in performance!
