Go for the GSkill (I don't think the Transcend ram is available anyway). I've used this ram to upgrade the memory of at least 3-4 macs (sister's, wife's, wife's dad's etc...) and they're all working without a hitch. I'm not sure though if your mac will handle 8GB. Check the documentation.

A bit apprehensive about the warranty part.

Can anyone confirm whether 8gb would work? Some forums say yes but apple officially mentions only 4[DOUBLEPOST=1363536838,1363280986][/DOUBLEPOST]Update: (Just for the sake of other users)

Bought G Skill 4GB x 1. Working absolutely fine. 5Gb in total & that I suppose is more than enough memory I would ever need at least for the time being but this does negate the dual channel benefit I could have gained with 2 sticks. And since 5GB is working fine I think 8GB should not be a problem as well.

Thanks for the advice.
