Hello,

A have been a member of this forum since a few days now though I may have not been active. I saw advertisements of lynx-india.com in the dealer section and decided to order a Razer Mako 2.1 Speaker system . I thought that as the dealer was listed and was advertising on these forums he would be reliable.

I made the payment against order Lynx-3631 on 16th Jan of Rs 17760/- in his ICICI a/c and sent him a sms on the same day. I had made the payment after confirming that the system was in stock on his helpline no.

The order status was showing Still Awaiting payment when I checked on 18th Jan. I called him on 9815000133 and told about the order status still showing awaiting payment. I asked if it was necessary to sms him again the refused and told me that he would take care of it.

When I checked on 21st Jan, my order status was still showing awaiting payment. I called him again on the same no. and he talked in a very rude way and told me "You guys dont know how to follow instructions" re: the sms which I had sent and called again to confirm. He asked for a few more hours of time. He also stated that according to his policy he will ship the goods after 15 days.

Finally the site showed that my payment was received after 3-4 days more.
It is 6th Feb today (21 days since I have made payment) and my goods have not been dispatched yet.

The worse part is that I was buying the product on my friend's behalf and I had myself suggested purchasing through lynx after seeing advertisements on the forums. I am worried that I may have lost the money. I have never really encountered such a dealer and would have gladly purchased from another shop even if I had to pay more if I knew I would have to go throught all this headache just to buy a speaker system.

Well the guy sells a lot of stuff to members here and they are pretty satisfied.

have u pm'ed Amarbir so we can also see his side of the story ??

Talk to him once. I think he doesn't have 90% of the items listed there in stock. It is even mentioned on the site that everything is ex-stock. So, after you make the payment, he arranges the product and sends to you. Something similar had happened to me as well that after i ordered something, he then found out that the distributor doesn't actually have that product at all, so after waiting for a long time I went for a lower alternative. He does have a lot of delays in everything but he is good otherwise and prices are good as well.

Don't worry he takes time but is a nice dealer you can talk to him he would certainly help you and about the rudeness that is his style :P

Amarbir is like bsnl and other govt offices..Its always ur fault, cause u choose him..As simple as that..solve it amicably..

While making promises he doesnt hold back..but when it comes to fullfilling them, he takes a u turn..

Maybe we should have a statutory warnign against his name for such things so that unsuspecting people dont fall for his shit..

21 days? That sucks.
You should have found out if the product was in stock, before you ordered it.

AFAIK from my conversation with the OP, he did confirm its in stock with Amarbir before ordering over phone.

Amarbir, please look into this.

Same story here. He takes his own sweet time and can be arrogant in dealing with customers. Chase after him, he will definitely send the product. I got mine after a delay of 20days.

to be honest, forget the dealer's reputation, this damages our credibility and that of the site.

I've faced a similar situation where I recommended techenclave to a colleague, and he wanted to buy something from a regd dealer ( not amarbir). The dealer took ages to fulfil his order, and eventually He got the stuff from elsewhere. Turned him off buying from the internet, and even my advice :ashamed:

I wonder what can be done about it though.

the only thing that can be done is go the ebay way.

- domestic orders should be shipped within 10 days from getting payments, max 15 days.

- those buy from usa orders would be an exception to this i suppose, since it would take more time for them to arrive here.

- if after 15 days, orders have not been dispatched by the dealers, he should refund the full amount to the buyer, and buyer has right to give neutral rating saying dealer does not ship in time.

- more than 25 neutral ratings like this and people like us should beware of that dealer.

Talk to Amarbir, he is a great guy, he sent my shipment even without receiving the payment, and i received the equipment .

I feel if he doesn't have the item in stock it will take time for him to get the same. So before placing an order talk to him to confirm if he has ready stock then place the order, that is what i do always

Every time I call him he keeps asking for more time. I had already confirmed that the the mako was in stock over the helpline when I made the payment. At best I have wasted 3-4 weeks over nothing. I don't even know if he intends to send me the product.

True. But if you think about it, members are responsible for this.

Unfortunately, when people have a bad experience with some dealers they still end up giving positive itrader ratings so its fault of the buyers who gave +ve remarks even though they didn't have a smooth sailing. Its because of this, first time buyers (majority of the 1st time online buyers end up getting from lynx-india.com btw) see so much +ve itrader ratings and would buy it eyes closed, then later ending up suffering the consequences. Credibility of the forum is being damaged, but its because of the members who don't give honest ratings. This is a neutral community forum and not some shitty low life forum where people ending up saying any crap. I've also seen few members hooting around other Indian tech forums and sticking out for their dealers, even though they had a bad deal with them.

Its pretty funny many people just give positive itrader points even though they had a not-so-good or even bad experience from the dealer. Truth be told how (or why) would dealers improve their service if majority of the buyers given him 80-90% positive feedback? Why are people shying away from giving negative feedbacks? Are dealer keepings guns on your head or do people even think before giving ratings. If they don't think, why rate? If you see it this way I wouldn't be suprised if 1/few dealers manipulate posts to give proxy ratings. If people don't, you will never get better stuff with better pricing with faster shipping and better after sales service. Wake up and smell the coffee. If a dealer gets paranoid, opens a thread against a buyer for -ve ratings and does his name calling with other members, its the credibility of the dealer which will get damaged. Why are people so scared? Why do people have to be such arse-kissing wussies? You have the power to give your honest opinion, why not do so?

That being said, I hope the OP gives an appropriate feedback rating and comment when he gets his speakers. Remember, if a buyer gives a dealer a positive rating though one has bad experience, its the buyer that is at fault and its because of him that the dealer succumbs to such levels and trapping other customers.

actually, You cannot rate a dealer/seller/buyer if the deal doesn't go through. My friend couldnt rate the seller because no actual deal had taken place.

If this deal gets cancelled, me_ankit will not be able to rate anyone either.

well, why positive ratings ? if a rogue dealer reneges/displays a sudden lack of interest on his offer after accepting the money, and then you give a negative feedback rating, forget the retaliatory rating issue, that will be taken care of by the mods, but what about their money, or the product? all this is subject to the goodwill of the seller. You do not It pisses him off, and any chance of seeing your product, or whatever piece of technology you saved up months for, or your hard earned money. You don't want some angry man calling your mom asking them to pay up money you had paid weeks ago. You don't need to be tied up in court/disputes trying to get your money back. So the hapless sellers end up giving a positive rating ( its a small price as compared to the alternatives). And since each dealer has his own bunch of fanboys, and any newbie who raises any complaint gets struck down by them.

Why I still buy local & from friends btw :|

I agree with both 'greenhorn' and 'The Sorcerer', although conflicting. :P

However, I would personally leave my dealer rating/feedback, based on my experience rather than succumbing to peer pressure/fear/general opinions.

There may be consequences but one most learn to deal with them.

In that case, the delay in unacceptable, especially for a first time customer.

Roxtin baba, why would any customer tolerate that ? This blow hot blow attitude is not appreciated at all.

Rudeness is style...is it so...... ???
We Indians are rude by nature ???
Lets have fun being rude to each other...swearing, b**ching. How would you like it ?

whenever i make my tech related purchases i make sure that the product i want is available locally if it is not i place my order with lynx-amarbir. i know he is a busy man and he is dabbling with loads of deals and orders and that is excuse

but the guy deserves applause for getting stuff that we could only dream of.

make it a point to make sure he has what you want in stock and only then place an order or pay up. also mention how important your needs are and convince him! i learnt from my first experience dealing with him--the glacialtech case fans took 10 days to arrive but my corsair laptop ram took 3 days bcoz i made his life miserable calling him again and again.i ordered my soundmagic pl-11 from mediahome.in - anuj - to avoid the hassle of waiting in queue b4 the other orders got processed.

we need to cut him some slack.......not as much as you've done with your razer mako and what beats me is his absence here in this thread.

AFAIK he is busy with some customs issue may be that is taking time, @OP you call and ask him for a fixed date for delivery or get refund as it is over 15days which is his shipping policy.
