This is really really sad.

A Malaysian airliner reportedly with 295 people on board has crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border, on a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia Airlines said it had lost contact with Flight MH17 from Amsterdam. The last known position was over Ukraine, it said in a tweet.

RIP :(
 
Ya seriously.... I mean how much bad luck can one airline have....
First MH 370 in March and now this.... :(

Anton Herashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine's interior minister, was quoted by the Associated Press as saying the plane had been hit by a missile at an altitude of 10,000m (33,000ft). The claim could not be verified independently.

Just wish, this doesn't become a starting point for another war, already tensed environment is going on between Russia and Ukraine

Exactly what I thought.... This is good fuel for conspiracy theories.
This incidents happens exactly few minutes before Putin and Obama were going to talk on the new US sanctions on Russia.
And what better incident than this to gain support from other European countries which have toned down their interference (nose poking) in international issues recently.
And we all know what US is capable of.
Things could definitely turn ugly in days to come...

On a side thought .... Israel and Russia both "friendly" nations of India are involved in such non human conflicts.
This does put India in a bad light on the global map since we are associated with these nations and we are not even (or cant even) criticize whats happeneing there.
Israel is creating new records of inhumanity each day and no one raises a finger on them....
 
What is going on in this world ???
No value of human life............before launching missile at least they should confirm on radio that if its a passenger plain.

No one is daring to come ahead, I just saw few muslims on fb/whatsapp protesting against it and asking to protest in front of Israel Embassy today @ 3pm.

In Parliament, BJP ministers says that we can't talk on this topic, irrespective of the opposition pressure.

Height is that a Air India plane and a Singapore Airlines plane were in a radius of 25kms from the ill fated plane when this incident happened.
 
Don't think thats possible as the SA-11 Gadfly is a radar guided SAM.Unlike the MANPADS(Man portable air defense system) you see in games like the Singer,Igla etc.(BF 3 anyone??) the Gadfly operates on another principle.First there is a scanning radar which identifies and locates the aircraft.Then the fire control radar comes into play which points a powerful beam of radar energy (microwave RF) which acts like pointing a torch at something.The Gadfly missile is a beam riding missile which follows this beam and hits the target.
Since the radar cross section of a fighter(I am assuming Mig-29 Or the Su-25 Ground attack aircraft) is much smaller than a jumbo and thus it is unlikely that the air search and the Fire control radars would lock on to that.On top of that these air search radars upon finding an aircraft fire a interrogation signal towards it which is returned by commercial aircrafts called the Identification Friend Or Foe System(IFF).All commercial aircrafts have this system and if you remember a few days back two IAF jets were scrambled to intercept a Turkish airliner at the Indo-Pak border since it sent the wrong IFF code.[DOUBLEPOST=1406059260][/DOUBLEPOST]Sorry should be Stinger not Singer:P

The problem is they are not saying too much especially germany because they depend on Russian gas.

This was an accident of mistaken identity. Those responsible and those who provided the weapons are trying to cover their ass.

3 israeli kids go missing, the israelis go look for them and get attacked. what next ? more israelis can be kidnapped at will ? This is a punitive expedition by Israel for their own future safety.

Our govt has done well not to being sucked into useless propaganda.

Completely DISAGREE with your views, as you are looking only half side of the story.

They don't kidnapped 3 Teens becoz of fun or daily excercise, but only because of grief, despair and anger because killing of innocents by regular bombings(recent toll is 715 and continuing)
Tell me how many Israelis have died since teen-killings.

First check how many Palestinians have died from the Israel's Air Strike and their check posts inside Palestine and surrounding borders.
People are forced to live in the world's largest jail which is surrounded by 3 fronts by Israel(2 sides Israel, 1 seaside-also Israel navy and one barbed-wire close border with Egypt)
No one is allowed to enter Palestine nor some one is allowed to go outside the country.
Even Human Right activists are sometime now allowed to shoot and cover story.
All food supplies, medicine goes after Israeli checking.

Our govt is ignoring because of Israel has the backing of US and India can't go against US because of many reasons.
Also include buying sophisticated defense weapons like AWACS Phalcon etc.
