well speaking of it, how good bad is mandriva kde editition compared to kubuntu 9.10?
really tempted to switch to kde 4.3

downloaded and tried Mandriva one 2010.0
well how should i say :/ felt like i was using kde 3.5 or something...lol in reality the theme is pale compared to default air theme...
fiddled around a little, no air theme is bundled :no:
too much customization in Mandriva, i cant feel the shiny kde 4.3 in this :P
hmm kubuntu for me :bleh:
 
just downloaded and burnt mandriva one 2010... kde

browsing through the disk..

the readme.pdf ... the Starter Guide... it's titled mandriva one 2009 :lol:

anways.. will install this now in some time will see how it fairs compared to ubuntu 9.10

^That is old read me file, beauty of mandriva 2010 intact inside a very light and faster OS having out of box multimedia ready support.
 
i'm still trying to figure out driver installation.
i executed shell script binary from ati site... it says it installs well.. but doesnt really allow me to enable effects.

i tried via repositories... a little improvement... still no go...

in either cases.. the maximum colour detail setting doesn't go above 24bit.... similar problem that i had with opensuse...

all these issues are there because i'm not yet friendly with rpm based OSes and also maybe i'm kind of used to debian. so these may not count as issues... merely my doubts i can call them.

apart from all that... i must say new kde is much polished and stable...and i'm lovin' it :)
